Maybe it is time Sparks reviewed his own contract and cleared off. We have achieved feck all on the pitch since that guy was fast-tracked through the club and promoted to where he is now, having had little experience and from a rugby background

As CEO, what more would you want him to do?

    - Get the balance right with his communication (gone from full-on to nothing)
    - Pay more attention to important club matters than attempting to rip fans off with overpriced 'holiday' packages for pre-season friendlies against non-league no marks
    - Appoint a Director of Football to oversee some proper signings that will benefit us, not bringing in herds of rubbish every transfer window that have little to no effect

    To name a few

As detailed in a previous post, the communication is there. You just have to read it?
Don't go to Spain. It's a friendly. The club won't fold because you don't attend a pre-season friendly. You don't have to attend.
He's brought in a Head of Recruitment. There weren't too many grumbles about the recruitment last August?

You're just bashing Sparks because we didn't get promoted.
If Lewis makes a couple more saves on Saturday or Crichlow defends a bit better and we win, then Sparks is a god because you're buying a ticket for Wembley.

You conveniently missed off record commercial revenues and record attendances. But they're nothing to do with Sparks are they?

TBF our recruitment last summer has been ok. I think we have done alot of the pitch well and Hughes was backed. The promotion failings are down to the management team and a few key players not turning up when it mattered.

There was an interview with sparks for everybody to listen to on the day of the first leg. The trip to Spain is an offering which can be taken or rejected. You do realise that all this commercial activity goes to the bottom line which this year gave us a very good budget. As for the signings as other people have said nobody was complaining last summer. We got some right some wrong but getting the right fit is the most important thing this time

City have done everything right the last 12 months - Hughes on paper was an amazing appointment given his reputation and he was given a good budget to have a go at promotion. I also think Stephen Gent was a decent appointment as our recruitment has improved considerably.

Apart from a few dud loans our recruitment has pretty much seen very little in terms of flops. Oliver and Odusina are really the only 'poor signings' under contract.

I still think Oliver will come good, but not in the same team as Cook.

Director of Football in L2 , you having a laugh?

I’d rather pay the wages of a decent player than adding another layer in the Managerial hierarchy. We ain’t Man City, Spurs or Chelsea et al funded to the tune of £200m a season whatever it is by Sky money.
This is FOURTH tier football .Please stop living in fantasy football land.

Paul Digby anyone? 6ft 5 defensive midfielder out of contract at Cambridge but has been offered a new deal there. Replacement for Clayton?

Jordan Graham, out of contract at Birmingham City, winger, played one game on loan for us in League 1.

I think Jordan Graham ripped up League One with Steve Evans at Gillingham. He might be heading to Stevenage.

To be fair, the Director of Football/Sporting Director role has become more of a normal thing at this level. There are currently 15 of the 24 L2 clubs with someone in the DOF seat. Even a club the size of Harrogate have two DOFs, one for the mens and one for the womens teams.

City, Stevenage, Northampton, Grimsby, Crewe, Walsall & Rochdale are the only clubs without a current DOF in place. Carlisle & Newport are the other 2 clubs, but they have had a DOF at the club over the last year, but currently haven't replaced their last Director of Football. It sounds like Carlisle aren't going to bother whereas Newports only left in April, so nothing concrete yet.

Cooks finances might be better off with a move but I am not sure his career will. Coming of his best season by a country mile he may not fit in or reproduce it elsewhere there have been numerous instances of players in similar circumstances flopping after a move. Sometimes it’s better with the devil you know

    Or is Gent our equivalent?
Without knowing exactly what those DOF's do, it's hard to compare. The only difference maybe Job Title.

Anyone else seen this today? Could possibly be a photoshop, however if there’s any accuracy in it then what a shite decision to keep rides. And they should be giving cook whatever someone else has offered him, no excuses

Parkinson was always very reluctant to reveal our retained list.

Sparks has done a good job with the commercial side of the club I've been impressed since he's dropped out of the media spotlight.

Looks fake. No line break before Cook's name, and no mention of Songo'o anywhere.

Also, if true, really poor to be offering Ridehalgh a contract; He's absolutely past it for where we want to be.
