You're bob-on. Look at the bottom of this list and apart from Grimsby it's all the top teams, apart from us and Salford

On the flip side, from open play we had the best defence in the league!

I think the problem actually lies in how we set up. We conceded lots at the back post but never really switched anyone around so it was constantly Smallwood or Halliday getting outjumped. If we sign a bit more height and power in Midfield and/or the full back areas this should hopefully help us re jig the line and cut out us conceding similar goals next season whilst hopefully remaining as resolute in open play.

A team with a squad as big as ours should have been able to cope. As it is, a manager's negative tactics denied us a Wembley visit.we probably weren't as bad as some make out.

The injury to Chapman was very unfortunate because his was the only position we didn’t really have covered like for like. With him out we became unbalanced and on top of that I am certain Walker was playing through injury. So our threat only came from the right

We did have cover, they just weren't very good. Periara, Young, Nevers, Eisa, none of them took the chance when offered. But that happens at all clubs

Young was on loan Periara and Nevers are much happier on the right and Eisa was hardly fit which only left Odesebe who only uses his left foot for standing on. We were unbalanced

Really hope that A.G. rejects his contract offer.
A midfield of him and R.S. would push me over the edge.

I'm hoping lads like Ridehalgh and Gilliead are squad members next season.

It makes sense to keep them if they are, as recruiting reliable players for the bench is harder than it looks.

We've had a bunch of squad players this season, and so many have looked incapable.

Ridehalgh has spent time as number 2 and come back strong - Gilliead has played 50 times, so Hughes might see him as a useful utility midfielder... but I hope in both cases we sign very strong competition for places.

OK, as a squad member I can accept.
As a starter it's a no no no neigh no.

I think you're right, though, chances are Gilliead does start a lot of games next season.

He's been a reliable servant for Hughes, and looked fit as a fiddle all season long.

A reliable, non productive servant though.
Athletes are as fit as fiddles but, they'd be useless as footballers, much like A.G.
