You obviously missed the post about previous regimes scratching at the surface and doing the minimal amount of work necessary.

Someone else has covered the fact we're paying fees. The last lot couldn't do that just paid too much wages that went on to the running debt with the fingers crossed hope of a cup run. Fordy it's been a house of cards since GR took over and one day it would have tumbled.........oh wait a minute, didn't that happen? It could quite easily have happened again.

The sustainable model they are working towards means that once the club is on an even keel any investment put in adds value not just playing catch up all the time.

 

So what your saying is to go forward under Julian & Mark we needed a Cup run to potencially give Parkinson a better player budget,and under Edin & Stefan we need to sell a young lad we developed to go forward.
We knew Julian & Mark could not finance the club going forward they told us many times, yet these guys can but won't.

But unless we develop players to sell on we aren't going to progress, good foundations or not, the business model is one that the club is self financing going forward, what happends if said players don't come through, stagnation just the same arguement as we need Cup runs to progress.

House of cards since Richmond took over? He got everything right until he sacked Jewell and his 6 weeks of madness. Us dropping down had more than just Richmonds 6 week madness to do with it. We would have been relegated sooner rather than later, take out the highs and lows amd you will usually end up back at your true level, ours is a bog standard league one outfit.

 

What!! Who said that, how the hell did you arrive at that? Where did I say we need to sell some player to move forward? Debt can cripple a business (and before you go off on another tangent I said can), free of it not only then does our day book meet requirements but we have then potential borrowings based on a financial stability. Which is the working equivalent of money in the bank.

Also you don't seem to get the point that they are investing in the club, just not in the way you expect, you expect them to just fund losses every year because that's how the big boys work. We haven't their revenue we can't push the boat out like that. Yet.

If as a club we do not develop these players we dont go forward simple they will not bankroll the club, lts not that difficult understand, they are keeping their money in their pockets.

Seriously mate, you need to move on from the Richmond days.

We either have money or we don't. Simple really.

 

Thats stating a fact. Take out the big crowds we’ve had for the last three seasons and the big ground that the much maligned BFG built and we are a bog standard league 1 side. I’m not depressed about it, it is what it is. I’m not gonna pretend we are anything different to what we are.

 

Yep, facilities wise I think they've done an excellent job and I'm more than happy to give them credit for it as I believe most would.
