You couldn't make this up.

 

There is a level of hatred directed towards the owners and Edin in particular that I am finding difficult to reconcile myself with.

I do not recollect this level of venom being directed at them/him until they fired McCall.

Since then it has been six months of unadulterated bile directed at them.

It really is getting out of hand.

They have invested in the club, it is their money at stake if their plan fails. They have made popular and unpopular decisions but there is a section of the supporter base who cannot get passed the McCall affair and are now using anything and everything to berate and beat the owners.

I find myself at the point where I find this so distasteful that I am going to withdraw from the forum.

I am looking forward to next season. It will be an adventure and I, for one, can't wait to take the ride with Edin, Greg and whoever is appointed.

I’ve no idea whether O’Brien will be successful or not. But it’s a further Indicator of why this ‘development’ squad idea is a nonsense. If you need a bit of youth understudy to add depth it’s easy enough to do so on loan.
It’s also easy enough to factor having a certain number of players with younger age brackets into your first team squad.

The development squad should be scrapped.

The money that goes into having Gibson, Clare, Gunner, Isherwood, Patrick, Bruenker, Hudson, Hawkes, Wood, should go into having 3 quality first team players instead.


What’s the point of having those players ‘to develop’ and then loaning 19 year olds from Huddersfield instead?

 

Should be starting Saturday then.

 

If Billy Sharp signs for us Edin can have my wife as a plaything.

Not sure im behind them on this one.. Was far and away our best defender last year and was the only one of older pro's not to down tools when the shit hit then pan.. Again during pre season he has been the model professional during games with the stiffs and has stood out especially against guiseley and sheff utd. Would be a shame for him to leave, imo id have him starting and at the very minimum first choice back up

 

I'm sure some will see it as a negative, but I wouldn't want us to be easy to deal with and have our tummies tickled when potentially selling our prize asset.

NKP played the whole of last season out of position and he had a poor season , but the season before he played very well in his normal left side position and helped us reach the play off final. He's a very good CH in this division.

 

Can't we edit this thread title to the @Sergio Pinto III and @Bronco bore fest then start a new one with some actual transfer rumours?

 

In isolation the players we’ve brought in look good. Scannell, Doyle, Payne, Akpan, O’Connor, O’Donnell. Even Mellor, who I think is a good player. I’m happy with all that. But they’re not the right for for the system - to be clear, it’s the way they’re being used that’s a big problem.

The other big problem is that it’s incomplete. We still need a quality left back, defensive midfielder and striker.

And a manager. Who’s allowed to manage.

 

Hopkin agreed that Staunton was the best defender and the lad Goldthorp was the best midfielder.

Two 16 year olds.

And some reckon the problem is inexperience.

It's actually just ability.

That's the main problem.

 

We're definitely not going to be signing plays like Oztumer, we all know it deep down too

 

This wouldn’t be so bad if we had a qualified director of football signing the players but Edin has no more footballing credentials than you or me. He’s just an accountant living out his dream playing real life football manager.
This is what infuriates people the most.
I gather that he’s the same with other aspects of the club - micromanaging things that he knows nothing about.
It’s ok saying that he’s the owner and he can do what he wants but it’s doesn't stop us being pissed off and worrying about the the clubs future.
This new mantra that some have adopted of “if you don’t back Edin than you don’t support the club” is absolute bollocks. I support Bradford City FC not Edin FC and if I’m concerned then I’ll criticse where I see fit.
