He loves to play, enjoys training and the regime, but if it is to be his last season,I personally feel he would prefer to 'play' it out rather than 'sit' it out.

 

I can think of many established centre-halves who are proven and who are coming to the end of their career. If Killa is on decent wages, and he’s surplus to requirements, it makes perfectly good business sense to ship him out - wherever that may be.

Well, evidently, nationality does matter. The amount of criticism this board has given the owner (presumably because he’s German too) in relation to the German signings (I’m not suggesting Isherwood is German) we’ve made during his tenure, has been tedious to read - on this forum quite frequently, and social media platforms.

If this isn’t your ethos, then apologies - but it’s certainly relevant. Isherwood was judged before a ball was even kicked in anger. That’s why it was mentioned.

 

shipping out Killa would be a poor move.

he's solid, dependable, will stick his head in where it hurts, and chuck himself in front of everything.
he's about 25 times better than Isherwood who's absolutely rubbish - and he's better than NKP.

it's a massive cliche - but I know who i'd want at central defence on a cold wet december night at Oldham.

 

Unless they bring another experienced CB I can't see the sense in letting him go, unless he wants to.. NKP played well on Saturday in the whole, however he still makes me slightly nervous at times.

 

At his age he will he wanting first team football I'd think, if Collins can't guarantee it (which he shouldnt do) then he should be allowed to leave if thats his choice.

I'm happy to start with a clean slate from last season and if Killa goes then so be it. I'd keep him over NKP but i don't think we need both and it looks like he might be second choice of the 2.

 

That's incorrect actually. I would quote it more like value for money. If you are paying big bucks for a player with no sell on value then they need to be first choice and one of the star performers in the side. Doyle will be a high earner. Scannell won't be cheap. Therefore I challenge you to expand on what you mean

I'm not sure what happend last season comes into it @Inspector, on Saturdays showing O'Connor is a starter when fit, contender for MOTM, I thought NKP played well alongside him.
Do we let him go if he wants out, if not he has to accept that he may not even be on the bench as sub, I have not seem the kid Isherwood play as yet but Collins obviously has and prefers him on the bench to Matt.
If we do get an offer before Thursday it might be the right thing to let him go for both parties.

 

NKP played the whole of last season out of position and he had a poor season , but the season before he played very well in his normal left side position and helped us reach the play off final. He's a very good CH in this division.

I have been critical of the board and also complimentary but couldn't give a damn of their nationality. Have i been constructive, not always!

As it stands, unless the wages are being directly identified to strengthen the football club/playing personal elsewhere then I would retain MK, to provide depth and versatility within the defence ( allowing others such as RM to switch to right , if and when needed).

 

It will be interesting to see who marshals' Moore on Saturday, I wonder if O'Connor will man mark him and allow NKP to push forward with the ball. I just worry if NKP goes up against Moore, as he isn't normally good against big physical strikers.

 

O’Connor and NKP on the whole played well. The left and right combination shows what we did miss on occasions last year. We always said it gives a better balance across the back. One reason I suspect NKP got the nod is because he has more pace I believe than Killa, and is more mobile. However Killa has the experience to get in better positions? At the moment OConnor is untouchable and NKP gets the left side for me. However I wouldn’t Release Killa... remember it’s a long old season!

 

Killa and NKP were both poor last season, but Killa got defended to the hilt - two months later, many are saying he's completely expendable.

Other than loaning out a couple of youngsters, I wouldn't want to release any experience ideally. However he wasn't in the squad on Saturday and if we're struggling to bring in another attacker due to budget and his wage could cover it then I'd be all for it.

Him getting player of the year is meaningless as an argument to me, we were shocking last season, I wouldn't want Joe Colbeck back and he's won it under quite similar circumstances imo.

 

And maybe that he played for the Shrews before coming to us, that sometimes adds a bit to a players overall performance on the day.
With regards Matt yes its a long season but if he got a 2 year offer from a league two club we should let him go.

 

Sounds like Posh have given up on Danny Rose. Wonder if he’s on our radar? He’s handed in a transfer request.

You never know but we were not informed any additional incomings could be loans presumably before the end of the loan transfer window.
