What if part if the development plan involves oh I don't know..............playing for us. I read it as these goldmines, as some would have it, perhaps doing well for us and taking us forward then let's see what other players may be attracted to playing for the club. Everyone quotes Posh and reminds us that it got them in the Championship, let's see where it takes us. Has everyone lost their sense of adventure?

I think we might have a different idea of what a first team player is

 

We clearly won't pay the wages. Top end league 1 players want paying accordingly. Players we develop will be sold as they will run their contracts down, knowing they can get 30-40% extra elsewhere. We will sell with 12 months left so they don't leave for free.

 

Wyke and Robinson worth more than them collectively.

 

Look at the squad, not hard to figure out? I count 14. Not including Hanson or Devine.

Is that group of players any better than the 9 that were left originally. We could get rid of 4 of those and nobody would bat an eyelid.

Unfortunately that situation is not going to happen, it has always been the case with clubs like ourselves develop a kids who starts playing in the first team he soon gets noticed and bid comes in and the kids sold, that unfortunately is life following the likes of Bradford City.
Even the owners say this is their model going forward develop a kid sell him on invest the money in better quality first team players and bring another kid in to develop, now call me cynical but I don't think that is sustainable, and until that situation arises I'm not convinced the money generated from that player will go back into building a better first team squad, we have to take their word that's what will happen.

 

Some people just can’t help it though. Those of us that see the bigger picture and support the owners in rebuilding a club built on sand are deluded and apologists, the knockers won’t be happy until they’ve driven our owners out of the club.

These men aren’t fools. They have a business plan, if it takes five years then so what. We aren’t a big club, but with steady organic growth we could be.

Look at the clubs in the championship, bar Rotherham most have been there or above for ten years. We need firm foundations to complete.

The deluded fools are the ones who believe every rumour, every bit of “ITK” tittle tattle and think that owners should throw their own money at success.

We can have ambition and understand that it takes time to realise it. Alan sugar didn’t go from barrow boy to billionaire in two years.

Rahic said last month that they want to build a team can hold its own should we go up. That doesn’t suggest that all young players will be sold

 

For those people who keep pointing out that Peterborough have spent four of the last nine seasons in the championship, can I also point out that they have spent four of the last forty seasons there too.
