Trying to find the T&A article, but Canavan did still live in Bradford whilst playing for Plymouth. They have a policy down there of not having to move close by due to where they are. They own loads of town house flats in Plymouth that they give to players and staff to use through the week. Those ones only train 3 or 4 days a week. Danny Mayor still lives in Manchester, Ryan Lowe lived in Liverpool still his entire spell there and just travelled down for a few nights a week for training.

There's an interview from back when Lowe was linked to us this time last year when McCall went and Plymouth were struggling. Said the further based members of the squad come in 3 or 4 days a week including himself, and Schumacher runs the drills when Lowe goes back home as he moved to the area, seemingly only senior/key players were allowed to live where they like.

O'Keefe is on loan from Mansfield, so depends on whether they would want him back or not.

Personally I'd be very surprised if we signed any well performing players from this division. Its what we should be doing but we won't be spending what's required to tempt them here.

I'm expecting a couple of unknown youngsters on loan from the championship.

That’s interesting thank you. Years ago, before my lad was born, I was offered a job near Plymouth. I’d get to Bristol and think, nearly there and it was still two hours on the road. It’s a long way.

I think when John Terry was at Villa he’d commute, but he’d have a driver and Michael Owen flew to Newcastle for training, different league literally and metaphorically, I’d imagine City’s senior players are on a good salary but it’s not going to be a huge amount. My neighbour is an assistant manager, he commutes about two hours a day, but isn’t in every day.

I still don’t get the home town lad wanting to return though, City are mid table league 2 and play some awful football, there are more attractive clubs around.

could be a city fan? otherwise could be one of a few clubs willing to give him a first team spot. if he went to a more attractive club he would most likely be in the same position he is in now. much like Vernam coming here from Burton, he is a first teamer now.

He's a Liverpool fan, them and Ipswich are the only clubs he follows on Twitter. Salah is his header picture and he rarely uses it but when Liverpool won the league he put some Liverpool celebration tweets out. I seem to remember him liking some Leeds stuff around the time they went up, so they might be his 'local' team?

Ipswich paper printed an article in the summer of players who may leave after they signed about 20 odd new players, Jackson was mentioned and they said he is on £3K a week, would need to take a cut to come here. Saw that Bristol Rovers are rumored to be looking at him.

I doubt there a single one of those that will be happy to swap where they are now for us. Especially Jack Diamond who is really enhancing his profile at Harrogate. Face it, we have a reputation of ruining peoples careers when they come on loan to us. Other than the two from West Ham (which are before we imploded) and Lewis O'Brien I can't think of a loan player who has left here with a better reputation than he had before he came.

We're not important enough for people to know any of that you only know cause you're a city fan lol we just don't matter enough for players to analyse in player by player depth

Agents will know it, and that is enough to stop them recommending a deal with us.

Find it hard to believe that agents wont want to work to make deals with us, given only Salford have paid agents more in the last 2 years in our division than we have to agents. If there's a deal to be done, an agent will take the money.

League Two agents an intermediaries fees released by the Football League for the period from February 1st 2019 to January 31st 2020.
    1) Bradford City, £114,010
    2) Salford City, £111,619
    3) Scunthorpe United, £107,345
    4) Plymouth Argyle, £81,537

League Two agents an intermediaries fees released by the Football League for the period from February 1, 2020, to February 1, 2021.
    1) Salford City - £137,884
    2) Forest Green Rovers - £79,372
    3) Leyton Orient - £72,117
    4) Bradford City - £71,369

Not sure actually. Pick Fordy117 left here with a reputation of being a bit rash. Yeah he's come on loads since, but is that down to his time here ?

    Ah, players we’ve improved. Gotcha.
I always thought Etherington kicked on after his spell with us. Same with that winger we got on loan from Sheff Weds. Can’t remember his name.

If it's Adam then he was on loan from Boro but went to Sheffield Wednesday so that could be it

I think we might also look at out of favour seniors as they are more reliable than teenagers from big clubs

yeah sorry, getting my teams mixed up. Went onto have a decent career at Weds. Playing for the Baggies now.

You could say that Steve Staunton went onto have a very good time in the game after being on loan at us and playing eight games. You might be stretching the truth a bit, but he was here on loan and then kicked on in leaps and bounds :)

With fans needing covid vacc passes or negative LFT from next week (announcement due soon), some will fans stop coming.

let’s hope the club don’t claim that lost revenue as a reason for not strengthening in January.

Another game highlighting our poor recruitment. The transfer market exists for a reason but Bradford think they can cheat it and will bring in crap again come January.

I think the cheap tickets have had a knock on effect, where Bradford recruit bang average players then expect them to magically play like stars just because they're playing in front of 15,000 fans (soon to be 10,000). Recruit average and you get average. The fans can't kick the ball for them but the recruitment implies the club think that.

I don't say "we" and instead say Bradford, because the fans know the direction recruitment should be heading, but the club persist on penny pinching and expecting the fans to elevate the players far beyond their level. I refuse to believe the scouts aren't aware of the talent around the leagues, but if their prospects cost anything (which they will since they have actual talent) then I guarantee the answer is no.

It's about time people started boycotting games. The club don't have to fight for our support because they'll dish out this level of football each season and expect 15k season tickets. They increased the price and look at the crap they bring in and put out. Doesn't make a difference to them if we're in League Two if we hang on to our League One attendances. Let the reality sink in for the board and our owner when they have to watch that crap with the level of support it deserves.
