Pretty much where I'm at. We're yet to really take the game to the opposition and I can only recall the Cambridge home game being one where we've created multiple good chances. Its the next step for T&S now to get complete 90 minute performances out of this team, particularly at home and now that we have the quality in attacking areas. Its the one slight concern I have really, because as you said the last two games have not been great and we've been down that road before.

Out of interest and a serious question what starting 11 would you have put out knowing Rowe, Cook, Clarke and Evans were non starters.

And that's who I think T&S are keeping the bench warm for, Parky

Trueman and Sellars deserve an 18 month deal. Eight games unbeaten before today and they’ve made players who looked awful under Stuart look very good - Sutton and Watt to name two.

Today we deserved to get beat but with four key men ruled out, three unexpectedly, I don’t see what else they could have done.

We didn’t look as solid as we have with Evans and Clarke alongside Cooke and we missed Sutton after he was subbed. We have to be realistic, though, and we aren’t gonna win every game.

It is going to be interesting to see what the response is on Tuesday as if we win that and leapfrog Scunny we’re bang in contention to push into the top half.

Come on lads. Show us what you’ve got....

Disagree we deserved to lose. When you score two goals away from home against one of the top sides in the league, you deserve something from the game. We weren't at our best for sure, but we were ahead twice in the game and only lost because of a mistake by Hornby.

We lost because we did not change FCD at full back who was getting skinned all the game by a winger that was sending in great crosses, Had we changed and took FCD off and stopped the crosses we would have stopped the second goal and penalty and won the game, We lost because we changed to late after the damage was done

We lost because we had a much weakened side against a good team. And it was the supply to the winger that we needed to cut out. I don’t think one or two of our forward players worked hard enough to close down as usual

Come on Bronco you know he can only offer negative comments or pull everything apart, he won’t change the habits of a life time to give a positive answer.

Add Stevens who to some extent let the game pass him by and the right hand side was a car crash yesterday

And, it seems, Exeter knew that's where our main weakness was and targeted it. Other teams will have taken note; our managers need to take action to ensure that others don't exploit that same weakness.

Whilst it was a bad day at the office yesterday, it wasn't a disaster.
It wasn't a great start losing our strongest forward line, but we still managed to look dangerous at times going forward with pace, which is something we've been crying out for.
And we scored twice - both debut goals too. One thing we've lacked up until recently is fire power up front and in the last few weeks that problem seems to be receding. 7 goals in three games from 5? different players. Not bad.
Whilst Exeter dominated possession they reallly didn't tear us a new one. In fact, to say they're top scorers in this division, they didn't look any better than Barrow or Sarf End in the final third.
The big failing was Stevens who had a poor game. This left a fairly inexperienced player (FCD) exposed and at times overrun. I think T&S should've addressed that earlier in the game but they to are still learning I suppose.
It's one defeat. Let it go and lets move on. The big test now for T&S is how they turn it around for Tuesday. I hope this game goes ahead because I think we need to get this defeat out of our system as quickly as possible.

You sound like that Boris Johnson. Why does he need to offer a positive reply?

Why don't you be insightful and truthful instead of trying to kid yourself like you are magic mushrooms floating thinking bad things don't happen in the world.

Keep on saying you don't improve unless you can work on your negatives. Not facing them is weak and lazy!

Stop fishing for people to be positive when a defeat of any manor should hurt.

Wood was the same. Both full backs not good enough defensively yesterday for me. FCD made the more crucial mistakes but Wood, particularly in the first half didn’t do enough to stop the ball coming down his wing

I agree if you score two away you should hope to take a point but they battered us for the best part. They bossed possession, they won more duels, won more corners, had more shots both on and off target. They also missed several good headed chances and beat us on the xG tally - 1.4 vs 0.6. So considering all that, they deserved their 3 pts.

Still came down to which team made the most gaffes though.

Poor game between two poor teams.

1 game doesn't mucky their ticket. But a big part of why I think its right for us to take more time before, is to see how they work with the squad we now have. They landed into into a situation whereby there was very little pressure on them, but the pressure is now On. What worries me is that the last 2 performances have been poor to average. How much of their first 7 or 8 games was down to putting in place a sensible system and working on the basics? Not that it wasn't right or necessary to do so, but can they now build on those basics to shape a side thats able to play better and more effective football going forward? They now have better players to work with, the pressure will ramp up. Let's see how they manage.
