Indeed. It's encouraging that in these past matches when we've given up the lead, we haven't then gone on to concede more and lose. Still, I'd prefer the first loss to be a bit further down the schedule than Exeter -- let the new players get settled in to a confident side first, and then deal with the bouncing back!

Exeter have won just 1 game in their last 8 in all competitions. Before that, they seemed to either hammer teams or lose in disappointing fashion.

In fact, Exeter were the 1 team in Stuart's final 7 games as manager that we managed to avoid defeat against.

This game won't be easy, but there's no reason we can't get a win or draw there on current form.

Bit of a cheeky question but we've got Barrow at their place on Sat. What did you think of them? I've skimmed through the posts on this thread and seen a number of comments about them being decent and their league position not reflective of how the team played. All replies appreciated!

They played well today, looked to have strengthened in the window. Deserved a point today, a bit unfair they left with nothing. Missed some very good chances first half. Two lads upfront looked a physical threat. Won't be as easy as it looks on paper.

They were decent to be fair. Quigley is a handful and other than the 2 goals conceded through poor defending / good play, they deserved a point in my opinion. Their fans weren’t too impressed though. I can see a draw.

Quigley's a handful, and they pressed high which caused us a fair few problems, particularly the last 15 of each half. Their midfield has been bolstered by Ollie Banks, and they've strengthened at the back too.

Unlike us, they've pretty much thrown all their new signings in to first team action right away - which is always a risk, and something we haven't done and we've maintained our form.

A good League Two side should beat Barrow as while they found time and space in our area a fair bit, they weren't exactly devastating - they hit the post and scored a penalty, but were far from clinical.

Workmanlike and way better than Southend or Stevenage, but nothing to write home about. They'll probably stay up.

They should be more balanced. The previous 2 games had commentators who were knowledgeable about our club and the goings on over the last 10 weeks or so. These 2 are too biased when they should be more neutral.

I just read through the link provided in this thread, and I'm pleased to see they thought little of Kay.

I personally thought he looked poor, dived for a penalty, stalled us in the dying seconds so he could tie his lace, got booked for his reaction, and then sarcastically applauded the referee in injury time trying to get sent off.

Now that's the kind of player I hope we steer clear of under the recruitment team - I don't tolerate babies, don't mind a wind up, but not a petulant moron like that lad.

The chap who was the pundit for Southend (I think he was an ex-manager of theirs) was a class above AK
Thank fxxk Radio Lxxds have decided not to travel to away games. It allows us to sample what other fans of rival clubs get to listen to and highlights the dross we put up with.
Case of point with the Southend game. The pundit was drawing the listeners attention to details about positioning and set ups that the commentator hadn't seen.
Compare this to AK who has to be fed lines and offers absolutely zero to the commentary.

You missed him hooting and making shrill sounds while Rowe scored?

I thought that added a lot to the experience, personally.

I noticed the stats today and Exeter didn't have one single shot on target all game. Having said that Carlisle faired only a little better with just two shots on target. It was good enough to win them the game.

JR is a decent commentator tbf.

AK, I don’t mean to be cruel, but I’ve absolutely no idea how he still gets the gig. He makes up words and gets common phrases and idioms jumbled up.

There recent form should have warned us this was going to be a tough game. They beat Cheltenham easily beat Port vale and got a point at Tranmere. They have in Quigley a very physical and decent centre forward this will be a difficult game despite their league position
