Particularly after all the fans at Oldham were chanting his name and then Bowyer got sacked straight after that match, doesn't take a genius to realise he was going to give the fans what they were asking for...

Agree we've heard nothing official from the club Julian accepted the job on a temporary basis, once Ryan was announced as our new CEO and accepted the job Julian should leave the lad too it, if required he would be available at the end of the phone, Ryan needs to put his ideas forward, hence my original comment with regards Ryan should be the guy sorting the applications out and doing the interviewing, or some will suggest the next manager was a typical Julian Rhodes appointment but your quite right I've heard nothing official from the club.

God no please no to either of those. Sol Campbell was a disaster at Southend and Middlesborough ha dto draft in Warnock to get them out of Woodgate's mess. As a complete left field suggestion, how about Bernard & Johnno at Chester ? They certainly know how to kick players up the jacksie and did a good job building the foundations at Salford City ?

Ryan confirmed in the BBC Radio Leeds interview that Julian wouldn't have any involvement in the day to day running of the club.

Woodgate or Campbell, no thanks. Their limited track records look very poor.

Of the realistic targets, Graham Alexander appears to have a decent record and win ratios of nearly 50 percent in his last two jobs.

Think I could do a job at a properly resourced and managed club and where supporters won’t cry ‘hippo out’ after one poor result. Consequently I’m ruled out from this one. In any case I’m busy preparing my case against Mr Allardyce for stealing my branding.

Campbell kept Macclesfield up when they were cut adrift and not paying the players regularly. That was a good start to his managerial career.

Too right if Julian thought the lad was good enough for the job he should leave but make Ryan aware he would be available if he required any advice, just as he told Rack & Ruin but Rahic was never going to take advice from anyone.

    Shudder...

Imagine if the logic behind the next appointment is 'well we can't defend, so here's an international defender'.

Even I am feeling more hopeful than that.

If Tuesday we do the unthinkable and win does the accadamy boss get the job. Apparently the new guy has to work with the accadamy. This bizarre season of no fans and recruiting from within continues scary but could happen.

Whos saying they have to work with the academy? If that’s true then that is an awful message to be sending out when we need half a first team worth of players to come in, in Jan and of some real quality too if we are going to stay up.

If Campbell doesn't get the job, then he'll be branding us racist.

Chris Coleman is a good manager. I'd like him here, but I'm not sure we're for him. Fact is, we can't afford "big name" managers, so as usual, we're going to end up disappointed. Woodgate with his 21% win right looks a likely candidate.

Some right happy clappers on the replies. Seems Sparks in the new Public Enemy - "little man in a big suit". Hilarious. These are the sort of people that would walk over hot coals to get a selfie with Rupp and Sparks and spend the rest of the year talking about it. A bit like that Lee fella on the wireless who had about half an hour to tell us how BRE is a nice bloke (met him numerous times) and Stuart is a lovely chap (met him many times) and how Mark Lawn (met him and had a few pints with him on several occasions) wouldn't stand for this sort of crap. I suppose they must be feeling very lost now.

I'm more worried about him trying to get the club liquidated if we get into financial difficulty and can't pay his wages for whatever reason, he wanted Macclesfield to go out of business because they couldn't pay him his wages. He's a pure mercenary, I'm not saying we need to be all sentimental when appointing the next manager, but going from McCall to Campbell would be going from one extreme to the other.
