Make that 18 studies - similar result. Colorado swab tests indicate 766 deaths from 14,758 cases. This blood study indicates 7.5% or about 430,000 were infected by late March/early April. My maths suggest a death rate of 0.2-0.3% will be likely for this one if you allow a bit for timing differences as infections lead antibody production and average death times by slightly different amounts.

    https://www.aspentimes.com/news/local-physician-shares-antibody-testing-results/

"Over the month of April, Dorval said the KBMO Diagnostics lab has processed results for 4,000 to 5,000 antibody tests. In Colorado specifically, Dorval said KBMO has evaluated 426 tests with 7.5% testing positive for COVID-19."

I'd like to know how Germany is calculating R if swab testing is giving such poor figures. Hit rates on swab testing are falling dramatically - more tests, fewer positives - indicating the virus is getting much rarer, despite most countries using swab tests in areas mostly where we concentrate the cases. It might mean prevalence in the wider community has fallen dramatically. But we don't know that if we don't test the wider community. That's where the information for policy decisions is to be found, yet we are not looking for it. And they call that "following the science"?

There are approximately 4000 professional footballers in England ,then you would have to factor in other ground staff ,officials , media etc . These tests would have to be done on a weekly basis . How could anybody justify this amount of testing for Football matches ?. I hear private capacity would be made available , if this is the case these labs should be used for all not the few. This is only the football aspect , what about Rugby - Cricket - F1 - Tennis etc etc ?, they might take the attitude why prioritise just Football ?. We have to face facts , even though we all love our team and Football in general , it can not and must not return until a credible Vaccine is in place .

The athletic releasing articles today stating unnamed staff and players have been in contact with them to state they are reluctant to return and don’t feel it’s safe.

All it would take is staff to refuse and the plan is gone. It’s farcical. Get it finished

We've made really good progress in getting deaths by DATE OF DEATH (not day of reporting) down - daily deaths in hospitals is down nearly 3/4 from around 800 per day at April 8th peak to around 200 per day now.

    https://static.standard.co.uk/s3fs-public/thumbnails/image/2020/04/30/15/englandhospitaldeaths.jpg

There's a similar death BY DATE OF DEATH which includes deaths outside hospital but I can't find a recent one. There's an older one in this link.

    https://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/uk/more-than-6500-coronavirus-related-deaths-outside-of-hospital-so-far-figures-39163826.html.

We seem to be on top of the deaths trend as much as some other countries that are easing restrictions. We seem to be adopting more of a wait and see policy.

I had an email yesterday (from the DHSS) inviting me to apply for a test; in the email it clearly states that "anyone over 65 with symptoms" can have the test. Not sure why they sent me the email, though, as I'm not over 65 nor, thankfully, do I have the symptoms.

I think a curtain should be drawn over the season now and end it.

Tot up average points per games played and adjust the table if necessary to allow for teams who have games in hand.

Top 3 in Championship and league 1 promoted and top 4 in league 2

    Usual relegation spots

Let clubs decide whether to offer out of contract players new contracts or not as usual by 30th June and all loan players back to their parent clubs.

The authorities can then take their time over planning when it is safe to start next season. Probably abandon all cup competitions next season and no play offs

Yep, it is symptomatic only. Testing without symptoms for no specific reason is just pointless. You could test today and comeback negative but be positive by time you get the result

It's pointless unless the number of asymptomatic infected is way more prevalent than we think.

Personally not a big fan of that method, not that there is a right way to go about something like this.

But 9 games is still a fair chunk of the season and form fluctuates at every level. Other than Liverpool, Leeds and West Brom and Southend and Bolton in league 1. I think most important spots I.e promotion and relegation are still very much to play for, plus there are games in hand and nobody has ever got 1.6 or 1.7 points from a game.

It’s the least fair way to relegate someone imo. For me you either cancel the season, which would be unfair on the fewest teams at the top, or cancel next season totally and finish this season maybe next February/March time when supporters could be back in stadiums. Then from there the Euros and it’s just a case of the 20/21 season never existed. Then the next new season would be 21/22. Not a good situation but at least from a fair point of view the season in progress gets complete. Obviously some teams would have different teams due to contract situations but it can’t be 100% fair either way.

Apologies if this has already been mentioned but the French FA already had regulations stipulating what would happen to titles/promotion/relegation if a season couldn't finish. Which is probably why they made that decision and why they made it so quick.

As I'm aware, no other league has any such provisions, certainly we don't in this country.
