The contract with iFollow may be void via force majeure. Both parties are currently unable to deliver their contractual obligations due to an event beyond their control so the contract is abandoned with both parties covering their costs. A new contract could then be drawn up to support the "new normal".

I think it will be like this:

    PL super league
    PL league

    PL super Lesgue current teams
PL league teams made up for crowd size or wealth - so likes of Forrest, Sunderland, Salford for example.

They won't want to deal with this mess again and will deal with clubs that don't cry after 1 month of not playing.

This is why Garry Neville said what he said this morning in my mind. Salford would benefit and be in the rich league.

There are no regulations to say they have to close if they have a service or MOT section.

that is why I am arguing it because that is the facts.

why they have closed is their decision.

Feel free to prove me wrong, but as I have checked the regulations and announcements from No10 to clarify what can and can not be sold I know you can not show me that you are correct

The French Sports Ministry has said that from May 11th
the general public will be able to run, walk and cycle outside without restrictions. Professional athletes will be able to resume training after a health check. A yardstick for UK when it gets round to publishing its plans.

French Government indicating other post-lockdown plans.
Schools, crèches and post-16 colleges will open gradually from May 11th. Universities will not resume in-person classes "before the summer". Businesses will start to reopen from May 11th; again a gradual process.

Between May 11th -- June 15th: Resumption of sports in schools.
From June 15th: Reopening of leisure centres, gyms, other sports facilities. Resumption of group activities such as exercise classes, amateur football, rugby etc. Professional games behind closed doors.

August/September: return to normality including sports matches played before a crowd. Large public gatherings will not be allowed until at least mid-July. Nor will bars, restaurants etc open before then.

A very significant part of UEFA's statement from today ...

If a domestic competition is prematurely terminated for legitimate reasons in accordance with the above conditions, UEFA would require the National Association concerned to select clubs for the UEFA club competitions 2020/21 based on sporting merit in the 2019/20 domestic competitions.

*This means the PL season has to be completed or finished on a points average per game to decide how the season ended.

A bit of a radical suggestion but what if IFollow gave a % of fees collected from each home game broadcast thats played behind closed doors.

Say its £10 per game and £5 goes to the club. If 5,000 logged in to watch that's £25K to the club.

More importantly I would suspect IFollows' income would also increase as more people would be logging in than would otherwise.

If on average 100 logged in to watch on IFollow pre lockdown and then suddenly its thousands I Follow would be rubbing their hands in glee and their income would rise substantially and they probably could easily afford to yield some profits for the good of the game and to keep them in business as well.

    Win win for both parties.

That way social distancing problem is solved.

I know ST holders have already paid to see the game but if you factor in that you can easily spend £10 on a match day if you go for a beer or food pre or post match or even buy in the ground a programme burger etc , then you are not really out of pocket overall.

I would log in to watch all home games for sure.
@wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler Has this been considered would you know?

This is a proper statement and update from a club executive. Meanwhile we get the odd comment from the media guy.

Personally, I might disagree with aspects of what their Chairman has said to the fans. But at least it comes across as a well meaning and honest view on the club's proposed way forward and a genuine attempt to explain the club's position to its fans.

Contrast that to our own cliché ridden, say nothing of significance statement from the club's so-called professional communicator. The differences between the two send a strong signal tothe respective fans; one club appears to want to genuinely communicate with its fans in order to explain its position and the other is simply going through the motions.

Unexpectedly high infection rates - and so lower death rates - keep turning up in antibody studies. New York State's preliminary test results, published today, indicate 13.9% of 3000 state citizens carry antibodies - and over 21% in New York City. This equates to 2.7m having being infected by 3 or 4 weeks before the test was done so maybe 3m or 4m now - so recent flattening in infection rates could be due as much to partial herd immunity as much as lockdown. Total cumulative New York State swabbed cases is currently 270k infected. This means the actual number infected could be more than 10 times the official figure and the suggested death rate is 0.5% - near the top of the range of the other blood antibody studies that gave 0.1% to 0.4%.

    https://www.cnbc.com/2020/04/23/new-york-antibody-study-estimates-13point9percent-of-residents-have-had-the-coronavirus-cuomo-says.html

That's now 8 blood antibody test studies that suggest that Covid-19 death rates might be not far off flu figures because so many people are being missed from official swabbed figures with low or no symptoms.

Don't agree with him and highlights everything wrong with div 2 clubs.

Furlough staff and players - will get rid of most
Asking for transfer window to be extended - so don't have to make transfers and increase wage bill.

    Disgrace!

    Then.. has his own agenda.

Doesn't want behind closed doors - risk of not finishing in top 3
Wants average point finish - worked out team will finish in top 3
No relegation- sorry that's nonsense so can get an extra vote

However, respect for letting fans know what's what.

Wonder how FlamingoLand is getting on? Have we asked to defer rent payments on VP?

Has the landlord agreed or is their cashflow situation so bad they need our rent to help balance the books?

I think Stefan needs to update us all on what is happening at the highest level at the club.

Let's be honest from a football owners point of view this would be great time to get promoted.

No wonder the Plymouth owner is creaming his pants.

If I am Rupp I am demanding the season finishes I don't care when that is.

    https://www.keeptalkinggreece.com/2020/04/23/greece-lockdown-extension-restrictions-may4/

One proposal reportedly favors the opening of the remaining schools to gradually start as from May 25 to June 1, and a brief extension of the school year. The opening of university amphitheaters is scheduled for September.

According to the circulating scenarios, small stores, hairdressers and beauty salons are expected to start on May 4, big shopping malls after May 20. Reopening of cafes, bars and restaurants is scheduled to take place May 25 to June 5..

The successful dealing with the pandemic will enable the first swimming in the sea in early June. Beaches are expected to open again and swimming ban to be lifted in the first ten days of June, and this will happen in keeping safety distance and avoid crowding.

Hotels are expected to open in June. The opening will be in two phases: first those hotels operating all through the year will open possibly on June 15, while seasonal hotels and tourists accommodation facilities could open on July 1.

One of Gary Neville agenda driven points to get Salford in with the big boys and to generate more money for Salford & himself was how can football carry out testing on players when the key workers and NHS can't get testing themselves.

Well that problem is now solved

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-52405852

What I find highly disappointing is some extremely smart people when talking about this virus talk like the world has stopped! why? Because they have an agenda.

Testing was always going to increase and the quality of kits were always going to get better as we go along.

No one is saying football should come back tomorrow but in a month or 2 I would like to think our country is in a better place.

For those under 70 that work. Let me tell you that if you go into your line of work when it reopens with a defeatist attitude like some chairman in div 1 & 2 clubs and your mind isn't solution based then you could be in for a shock. The virus isn't going away and like Krankie aka Nicola Sturgeon said we have to learn to live with it.

So, div 1 & 2 clubs need to stop embarrassing themselves and crack on.

Fordy, I think you're being completely dismissive and ignorant to the reality that L1/2 clubs face. Their lifeblood is revenue through gate receipts. Without it, they can't survive. For the most part, these clubs are being bankrolled, they're having to self sustain. They're not being selfish, trying to hoard a few quid like the premiership big boys furloughing staff like Spurs - and for a time, your beloved Liverpool - these are clubs who are desperate, clinging to their very survival. Do you think they don't WANT to play games? This isn't being used as a convenient excuse, clubs are going to go to the wall!

I don't feel sorry for any div 1 or 2 clubs. NONE! For years I have said how unambitous Bradford City have been and how it should have invested to improve its infustructure not because of look at us we have this fancy new training ground or we own the stadium but to protect the club.

I also said cheap season tickets don't work. Yes, it seems great having 14k fans in but you are devaluing the true worth of a ticket which leads to less in sponsorship money.

The lockdown has been going on for just over a month and these clubs are crying! Picture your company crying and moaning in public? It's embarrassing! Everyone is suffering one way or another from this. Football has PL, EFL, PFA, UFEA, LMA, FA and the government. It has more bodies that can help them and all have money. So league 1 and 2 clubs moaning about not finishing the season makes me sick! The owners of these clubs might not be billionaires like some PL clubs but Rupp is worth approx 100m, Salford has mega money. It's a joke!

It's a time to find solutions and drive through the problems. It's tough I get it! Tough for everyone!

The clubs don't care about the players. They will use the Furlough then get rid of them and then call for the transfers window to be extended knowing next season won't happen. Clubs will go to the wall because owners not putting money in and no support from the bodies not because of the virus.

Yes, you are correct both Spurs and Liverpool did try to use Furlough and both changed their mind but div 1 & 2 clubs are using it a more disgusting way in my mind and then expect players to take a pay cut and as I mentioned then bin the players off.

Look, it's the agendas that get on my nerves. No relegation-why? West Ham, Plymouth clearly taking with an agenda. All these Micky mouse clubs. To be honest I said yesterday if I was involved at Bradford City I would be demanding that the season is finished because I believe we would get into the play offs and go up. No better season to go up this! None...
