If Bowyer is intent on 532, Connolly should be the right wing back.

Personally, I think our priorities are a left winger and a proper defensive midfielder. One who can compete physically and dominate the centre of the park.

 

Think the problem with Connolly is that he has no end product and for me is more dangerous up the pitch because of his pace.

Just think Mellor is so poor for us and I don't see what he offers.

Connolly for me should be a sub to bring on when the team you play against are so shattered because you have worked them hard but because Bowyer is so negative this isn't often the case.

 

The problem with Mellor, is that he does get into decent positions out wide, but then seems to panic and lose the ball or try and do something that he shouldn't. Then he's left out of position, and doesn't have the pace to get back into the space he's left, and their winger is away.

If Cooke has any brains he'd keep his head down and play his best when he can and then sign a good contract for the start of next season. What he shouldn't do is sign a contract with us when he has no idea if we'll be in league one or stuck in this current crap division for another season. It would be silly of him to sign a perm deal with us now.
