I agree. He's redeemed himself a lot for me by demonstrating that he isn't as inflexible as many of us thought. I hope, however, he admits to himself that he got it wrong in the first two games. Doyle as no. 10. What on earth was he thinking?

 

He’s back in credit now and let’s see what business he does in the window. Worrying to read that he thinks the current squad is good enough in his latest interview after yesterday’s game. If he upgrades the midfield, he will have champions on his CV.

 

So after calling Boywer a "dire manager" and "totally clueless" you now think he's a few additions away from taking us up as league champions?

Keeping Doyle fit and in game time incase a move comes good, easing Scannell in slowly, giving Gibson a chance to show what he can do in his preferred more central role, suring up the defence and improving their confidence for what will be a long season.

Nah, we should stick Donaldson out to the left where he can be a bigger threat than he was. Apparently that’s where his best position is

 

I suspect he was thinking that if the forward three clicked and Doyle got on the end of the good work and hold up play by V and D, we would have the best strike force ever assembled in the fourth tier.

Of course Doyle got nowhere near anything ever, and has been shipped out immediately.

 

I suspect if Doyle has not gone GB would have picked the same team and formation that he has picked before, Maybe losing Doyle forced his hand, Does not mean he will go 4-4-2 again and may revert to his favoured bonkers set up.

 

He did do quite a bit of work wide on the right actually. Scannels goal came from Donaldson wing play.

 

No it didn't, he can't play wing because he's tall.
