And for all those saying why can’t we judge him now?

No ones saying you can’t but at least be realistic about it. Seasons one game old

Fordy was you the guy that rang up and had a go at Andy Kiwomya on the radio after the game? He spoke about nonsense too.

I can't think of many instances of a manager singing someone's praises in the paper then shoehorning them into the team for the sake of playing them if they don't actually rate them.

If you disagree with my post then address it full rather than getting fixated on one sentence. What about the 3 from last season he actively chose to sign, did he not want them even though he offered them contracts? Has he not preferred some of last seasons players to his own even though competent completion in some of those areas exists? Did he not shoehorn Doyle in even though it was completely unnecessary? An odd choice to make for a player he apparently doesn't rate.

Fact is he's signed 13 players and if you dont want to believe his words his actions suggest he rates atleast a couple outside the ones he offered contracts too. I've no doubt that he rates Mellor too and will bring 1 or 2 more of his own players in. Account for everything and we're dealing with about 15-20 players here. Baffling how some think he shouldn't be taking responsibly for that.

10 of them were signed for this season, it's far too early to judge him on 1 appearance this season with his new players being involved.

And you’ve decided all of that based on one game played? And who said he doesn’t rate Doyle?

Which other players has he picked over his own?

Not sure many have said he shouldn’t be taking responsibility. Maybe some are just allowing more than one game into a season before passing judgement on the manager and his players.

Responsibility for one game? Are you being serious?

    Where have I said that?

He should be taking responsibility for the squad at his disposal is all I'm saying. I'm not sure where you've got one game from?

One game is a timeline you, @marshy77@marshy77 and @bantambanter have made up yourselves. I'll simplify it for you: He's responsible for results.

''Baffling how some think he shouldn't be taking responsibly for that.''

Taking responsibility for the first game of a season that in all honesty wasn't the worst performance we've seen for the first day of a season?

I've said previously it's not football manager, you aren't going to batter every team every week and I'm sure he knows what needs to be done but pushing out phrases like he needs to be held responsible after a clean sheet and a point do you not think it is OTT?

We all whinge at the state of modern football with the wages and manager changes but you can feel the mind set of our very own fans changing. You only have to read some of the pathetic posts on the match thread it's evident, maybe I over reacted to your post but it had the under tones of some of the same rubbish on the match thread.

Of course he is. That’s his job as manager.

He will get the right results with a tweak of formation and personnel when his players are fully fit. Ismail for one gives us a different option. Still got 3 weeks to go until window closes.

Most managers will walk into teams with contracted players that aren't theirs, so Bowyer is not in an unusual position.

But so far things look promising with his players in the building.

I feel like some posts have been written in a delirious state - one result in, one dominant performance, but one example of poor finishing.

    Hardly anything to worry about.

2 players short that's all. Paudie makes us stronger and we need a premier league/championship midfielder who likes a tackle and maybe a neither striker.

We could be heading in to January 12 points clear off second and there'd still be people whinging on here.

I agree it was a dominant and very comfortable performance.

Disagree that it was down to poor finishing, most our chances were half chances at best, we didn’t score because we didn’t break them down and create clear goal scoring opportunities imo.

But early days, as you say one or two certainly over reacted, a quality midfielder and a left winger to give us another option and we’re there imo.

Where in that quote am I referring to just the Cambridge game? Read the part before that and it's very clear that I'm talking about the squad available to him and in particular the 15 or so players he either signed (13 of them) prefers over his own signings (O'Donnell and Mellor) or has openly talked about wanting to keep (Scannell).

Still not sure where you've got one game from but now you've brought it up I think managers always have some influence over results. The Cambridge game was no different although it's obviously too early to be making overall assumptions on his managerial ability.

Hope that clears it up for you.
