If Akpan finished the game wearing the same arm band, its pisses away any credibility of his statement. The amount of goals we've conceded recently he needs dropping anyway. Get the other O'Connor in, he can't do any worse. Drop Miller from the squad. Play Mellor at CB. They genuinely cant be any worse than the current incumbent's at centre half

 

I didn't see akpan pick the armband up and I'm pretty sure he didn't wear it either. He wears a white undershirt which goes below his sleeve which makes it look like he has the armband on.

I think you are right bantam2708. I heard Thornton say Akpan had picked it up but after reading your post, I've just watched and paused the lowlights again and you can see the white undershirt showing on Akpan's arm all the way through the match - at no point does it look like he is wearing the captain's armband.
Note to self, Thornton is not a reliable source of information.

So...the captain's armband that Akpan apparently picked up in the second half and put on...was actually something already visible during the first half.

 

Watched it again and still think he throws it off as if he doesn't want to have it. The statement is a load of crap too. He will have been forced to do it. I don't see how an armband can be so irritating through a shirt. He's a bloody fairy and a complete and utter shi&e player.

 

I had the privilege of seeing a real captain honoured today. All I know is you can make as many excuses as you wish, but any player in any team who does that deserves all the stick you can give

 

This lot are a shambles.
They wouldn’t play for a rookie manager in Collins. They couldn’t up their game for a proven manager with a record of getting results in Hopkin. They treat the caretakers decision to appoint a new captain with disdain.
No ownership. No leadership. Gutless and getting relegated. Ship them out in the summer and bring in s new manager and new recruits.
A team unable to win a game from a losing position in an entire season. No backbone.
