I am certainly not criticising the last owners Parky told them he would get a cup run if he hadn’t it would have been a 1.5 Million shortfall which would have come from players sales and austerity.as @Ricc says the club is not worth 6 ml but people were silly enough to pay it then they will have to again

 

After the Edin incident I'm not sure he'll be up for that.

 

Where we at with Julian leaving at the end of the season ? Am sure I read @wetherbywhaler say that he’s having a say in his successor or have I dreamt it and he’s here the long term .I stand to be corrected . Personally would like him to stay on in some capacity but not sure if he would want that .

 

Me too, dread the thought of him going tbh. It just feels safer when Julian is at the helm.

 

Our Club is a poisoned chalice, we have no assets of value, we do not own our own ground, yet still bear the cost of it's maintenance, whilst paying a six figure sum in annual rental. We operate mostly at a loss, as we are dependant on results generated through achievement in Cup runs and VP is only in total use, as a meaningful seasonal revenue stream, for around eight months per year.Season tickets sales have been generously attractive and when confidence is high amongst fans, they have succeeded in generating excellent attendances and take up on bargain offers.So, as people have stated on here, Stefan has a huge say in our destiny and right now, the Club has to be micro-managed like never before. Ok, we all probably expected more from the transfer window, but we have added and pruned some and the lads are beginning to raise their game under the new regime. The positives are that we STILL have a Club to support, a family that needs us and a future hopefully bereft of our recent past. As a business, we will always be living hand to mouth in this industry and there may be trying times yet to surmount, but we have to view this as a watershed and a new beginning.

Whilst you may be right in your overall view, your post is riddled with inaccuracies.

Firstly, yes I did read the T&A this morning and there was no ‘club admission that we have overspent to the tune of £2million’. I did read something from Parker to suggest this, but that isn’t an admission from the club.

As for, “we have recruited committed players with strong links to City”, where? We signed 5 players in this window and only one of them can be defined as ‘committed to City’. Yes, Butterfield is from Bradford, but he only came because his Championship deal was pulled and nobody else from that league came in for him. Do the other 3 have ANY connections to City?

Finally, I’d argue that the 2012/13 squad was not ‘makeshift’ as you described. In fact many of that squad would still get into this squad (had they not aged).

 

What I don’t get is this claim that we have dramatically overspent and that players like Riley and Wright et al, were on upwards of £3k a week.

When Rahic was here, wasn’t most of the criticism that he offered peanuts with high incentives? What was the incentive payment; get yourself in the treatment room and we’ll double your money?

 

I remember fans going berserk because Rahic didnt offer McArdle a 3 year deal or offer enough to keep Marshall. General moaning over penny pinching...... Rahic(a fool) baulks to fan pressure, goes mental with wages and now we are in the shit.

Careful what ya wish for eh......but of course, the message board fans know best eh.

 

If Rahic had appointed a decent manager before starting to bring players in, and let the manager do it his way without interference from Rahic, then the funds available would no doubt have been spent far more wisely, and we would probably be pushing to get out of this league at the right end.

He didn’t baulk to anyone. He provided minimal backing to McCall after the first year because he wanted him gone. Once he had full control he ran amok like a spoiled brat with daddy’s credit card.

Some saw through him straight away. Some saw sense after a while. Some only saw sense when it was too late. And unbelievably, a small number still jump to his defence!

 

Yorkshire Post today reporting "..an expected shortfall of £2 million which will be covered by Stefan Rupp". This is Stefans continued investment.

Do you not remember the days when fans were pleading with Rahic to run the club close the admin, build a relegation threatened squad and appoint Micky Cliche?

Fans owe football clubs indirectly.
