Neither did I. Only thing I can think of is we sign him on a pre contract agreement as he's a free agent in the summer and it'll remain as a loan until the end of the season.

Rotherham could release him by mutual consent , therefore we could sign him as a free agent

Providing we stay up the club will be worth at least as much as he paid for it.
The trouble is I don’t think there will be a queue of people banging his door down. Not many money people have an interest in our club much of it down to the image Bradford is portrayed in.

there's no way, even if we stay up, that our club is worth what they paid 3 year ago. we've gone backwards drastically since then.

the clubs only worth what anyones willing to pay, and if anyones willing to pay 6 million quid i'd be amazed.

I think you can only sign free agents outside a window if they were released during the window.

I feel like i’m repeating myself but that is absolute rubbish. How can the club be worth what Rahic and Rupp paid for it in the position its in now? They paid over the odds for it in the first place, what with no real tangible assets to show bar a few players that were on the books. They would have been better off buying it in the position its in now, would have been way cheaper.

because in Park Bantam's head we've had a really good 3 seasons, and we're a VERY attractive prospect what with our squad of over achievers, abundance of talent, all our assets and potential sponsors queuing around the block to get involved.

I think this is covered by EFL regulation 54.4.3, which states:
54.4.4 refers to the period in August between the permanent transfer window closing (9 August 2018) and temporary transfer window closing (31 August 2018) and stops Clubs from signing someone on loan, between those dates, then making it permanent before the January transfer window opens.

According to WOAP's list, we could field a team and even have a few subs. Just... Assuming the currently injured and/or out-of-favour and/or in other trouble get back into the side, we could see:

O'Donnell; Riley, A. O'Connor, Mellor, Wood; Scannell, Akpan, Reeves/Wright, Robinson; Doyle, Patrick

    subs: Sykes-Kenworthy, Wright/Reeves, Staunton

    - and maybe add in McCartan and Gibson, if we pick up McCartan's option, and Stevenage don't sign Gibson.
    - and maybe some more of the kids -- don't know the status of Maltby, Goldthorp, etc.

If we do get Ball on a permanent, that would certainly help. But that squad does show just how much of a rebuilding is needed.

Providing we stay up what has changed the club has run at a loss for years what we bring in as everyday income nowhere nears what we need to spend to be successful.
Under the last regime this was masked by the miracles Parky achieved and then there was little spending such as pitch improvements and new ticketing systems. Without the cup runs and the worthwhile gambles taken by the previous owners we would have either had austerity or unsustainable deficits.
Unlike many in this league we have big overheads with high rental payments for the ground and it’s maintainence..
In order to be successful we need to spend the sort of money we have spent this season only much wiser.
Rupp by covering the deficit is doing what any owner will have to do if we want to progress. From his point of view anybody can see it’s not acceptable that’s why there won’t be a queue of buyers waiting.
We need owners who are prepared to lose money if only the short term and I can’t see anyone like that on the horizon

Because it was over priced then, and it's still over priced now.
we are in a worse position on the field, we don't own the ground, or training facilities. we've got a bloated squad of players on high wages that aren't getting in the team and we can't move them on. numbers through turnstiles are falling, our ground sponsor has pulled out, and one of our biggest other sponsors (Napoleons) pulled out months ago.

there's no way on this earth this club is worth 6 million.

The club was run at a FORECAST loss, but never to the tune of £2m in a season, and how often over the last 3-4 years did the loss come to bear? We had a strategy of:

    1) Putting our limited resources into the first team.
    2) Maximising our chances of a cup run by building a competitive side that had the character to perform under pressure
    3) Letting football professionals run the club.

It was appropriate management of risk. The approach under Rahic was to let a lunatic run loose with the clubs money.

The potential is absolutely there for anyone with the wealth to invest smartly. We could be a real platform for developing and selling players if the management and recruitment side is run properly.

Hi Stafford. Still a bit confused. So does that mean we can sign him outside the window if there was a clause allowing him to sign permanently in the loan agreement?

We never had these levels of debt under PP even when we didn't have a cup run or player sale to cover the deficit so this post is a load of tosh.

That seems to be it. Given that Rotherham seem happy to let him go, subject to getting the necessary agreements between them and Ball, I would have thought that the clause would have been included in the loan agreement.

Right was thinking we had 6 loans and only 5 allowed in match day squad.
Think mcgowen going is a big blow for hopkin.you need a centre half on bench which meller isn't so i think miller misses out. Can't see him our Barnsley been happy with that. Hopefully if ball cam be signed perm problem solved.
