Not as simple as that. Where has it got Man Utd? Spending money can work if you have plenty of it, but for the majority of us, building a squad of good loanees, promising young talent and SOME signings of proven players. Even then, nothing is guaranteed

 

Eh? Got UTD about 20 league titles.

Now, City spend more hence why others struggle.

TBF to @Fordy117, he makes a valid point. Whether we rate Scunny’s signings or not, the fact remains that McCall does and he lined up the players early doors and got the deals done nice and early.

Hopkin suggested he wanted players signed and in the squad for 1 January. Yet we are nowhere near this now and yet again making excuses. The same excuses that get raised in each and every window. Yes, I get that we don’t have a game for over a week, but surely we want to get them in and run fitness tests on them and get the fitness coach working with them. And once the players are back, they could be getting integrated into the squad and our way of waiting.

Or do we just want to use the usual “they just needed a good preseason” excuse or perhaps “if only they had time to gel”....?

 

That’s buy bulk. Sainsbury’s have a team high quality expensive players, expensive flops and cheap and nasty whereas Aldi’s team is made up of the same cheap but decent quality players. However you can’t buy a full team from them. Always some specialist position missing

 

Our signings are very dependent on other clubs . Ie what happens to Ball and Payne

That’s funny because I thought Man Us success was built on their youth team. Didn’t the likes of Giggs, Scholes, Butt, Neville brothers, et al he bring them that success? As I say, throwing money doesn’t work in its own. Mixing with good youth players is also needed.
