No good old grass mate, think the fact Chelsea under 23's play there means funding is in place for its upkeep and I am sure Aldershot fan told me their groundsman has won awards for his work

 

Dont think you have got this right Keefly, I actually saw it as a positive. We had been on top for a period of time and I think the team just wanted to get the game back underway asap and keep it going - it was also at the end away from where our fans were. There was team spirit and commitment yesterday and it is totally wrong to suggest otherwise

 

Carnation had wilted well before kick off in that deluge Wetherby! I also was proud of the fans that made it yesterday and know most had much longer journeys than the one I had - also pleased at the positive interaction at the end between players and fans

 

You may have a point Craven. The frustrating thing is that Doyle has a track record of scoring in League 1

Anyone know how many we got watching last home FA CUP First round tie?

 

2930 watched our replay with Aldershot 3 years ago after we failed to beat them first time round

 

Wow. How on Earth was that not called off?

 

We needed the money from the reply, same this season any monies from a good FA Cup run could help out in January.

Completely agree. Genuinely can’t understand how any ref, never mind one in the professional game, could deem those to be playable conditions.

There was already a load of standing water on the pitch when Aldershot scored. You know there’s a problem when the players are making big splashes when running.

It was the last time we payed them in the FA Cup I believe, a lot will depend on other ties on the night, will non league V league one be a potencial shock upset ?.

 

Totally agree. It shows the difference of opinion TV/highlights give versus actually been there live. I also saw the same as @simons (woking bantam) that the goal was relief and what they deserved, but also the belief they could get one more. Given conditions and going one goal down considered, I actually think the team deserve some credit for continuing to go at it.

Although absolutely nothing to start celebrating, I’m of the hope that the small bit of success to come away having not lost and come from behind, might just lift spirits and confidence a little bit.

 

Quite right Olly and Simons. As I posted above the match quite probably should never have started and with the constant rain and even heavier downpour at HT it should certainly have been abandoned at that point. We thought it was significant the Ref clearly thought about a call off as soon as we equalized and the Shots management team changed their tune at that point also, why?
The simple reason was from the 60th minute on, in my opinion, we were not going to loose. We came stronger as time passed and belief did seem to grow as you say.
Presumably Jim O'B and Devine will play tomorrow. Let's hope for an incentive type draw tonight and see where we go from now, realizing it's a mighty long haul.
