So a break in the league fixtures, but still a very significant game.

Aldershot are mid table in the national (vanarama) league, so fifth tier.

Harrogate Town went there in August and won 2-0. However Halifax went there more recently and lost 3-0!

They won on Saturday 1-0 but it seemed to be a fairly even match https://www.theshots.co.uk/match-reports/aldershot-town-1-0-braintree-town/ when they use the this to describe the game, ‘ Aldershot escaped with three much-needed points against Braintree Town’, it sounds as though their form is not great.

Their average attendance is just over 1700.

It’s a good 4 hour drive (without delays). Train looks like the 8.34 (arrive 14.19) and return at 17.38 and arrive back in Bradford at 22.39. So a really long day!

For those (if any) going then this will help. https://www.footballgroundguide.com/leagues/conference/conference-premier/aldershot-town-recreation-ground.html#awhere-to-drink

Finally this in reality is a ‘must win game’. If City are going to get out of the bottom four this season, then they need to Win any game. You have to start building resilience and a winning mentality. There is not going to be a fixture like this (unless we win and get another minnow) all season. We already blew it at Macclesfield, so history tells us that this is a massive potential banana skin of a game. With the Football League Trophy (sic) game against Barnsley, offering an opportunity to play the first team prior to the Peterborough game, then we really do need a win.

I don't want to be negative about this game but really do feel this is one where a bet on Aldershot to win could earn a few quid.Winnings could pay for next year's season ticket.......just kidding...

Anyone know what the odds are?

Aldershot won 7 out of last 10 at home

Cup games away at non league are tough anyway. A team in our form I fear for us I really do.

I reckon we’ll scrape a draw and lose the home replay for ultimate humiliation.... feeling positive about things as you can tell.

It is a MUST WIN game. There’s no dressing up how poor we are by just looking at the table and our ‘performances’ all season, but lose this and i’d like to see how anyone can put a positive spin on it. Hopkin and the players need to take responsibility, and get it done. No excuses at all.

Anyone that goes, fair play hope the team turn up and give something back to the supporters.

I guess it offers ways to maximise the odds. How many we'll concede, how many penalties and sending off's we'll suffer, the odds could be really good which only the "in the know" fans can take advantage of.

Also if nobody wants to put money in Rahics' pockets by winning, well that could cement the outcome. I think I'll have a small bet...

Not at all confident with the team getting any win at the moment but hopefully we may just get a draw but for the rest of the season IMO we are done for.

It is going to be a tough game, the Shots are difficult to beat at home and their fans down here are really fancying their chances. I can only hope a break from our League disasters might release a bit of pressure of the team and they can show there is a 2 division gap between us, but not overly optimistic our current players have this in them.
I will be there with my son so will post a report when I get back on Saturday night.

I think we will do enough to earn a replay, and see them off at VP.

If not, Hopkin's position will come under serious threat I reckon, mirroring last seasons exit at Yeovil

If the club has any business sense (and that is Edin Rahic as he surely makes decisions about all matters City which will cost money), then this is a game when they could offer free coaches for City fans!

As I understand it City will get 45% of the grate receipts. So the more that are at the game, the more ‘cash back’ they get.

For every adult going it is £20 seats, £18 terrace and £16 - £14 for concessions. So City could get £9 -£6.30 ‘cash back’. Not sure how much a coach costs, but I am sure someone who runs one regularly could give an indication.

Good PR, and a sense that they are offering something to fans, who if they are prepared to go that distance are likely to vocally support the team.

Getting into the second round would also generate income, so there is a clear incentive.

The fact that City are incapable of thinking in a constructive way, says something about the competence of the CO!

Cant honestly say I am looking forward to it, but going into things with so little expectation means you might, just might, get a pleasant surprise!

3-0 humiliation , this will be the excuse that Rack and Ruin give for NO January signings .

    Aldershot 12/5
    City 11/10
    Draw 12/5

    (Bet 365)

Aldershot to win or draw is an odds-on chance, thats how sh*t we are!

I believe we will be in the second round draw even if it takes a replay.

Get £20,000 for a first round win (I think), that's 3 players wages for a year at City.........
