13, it's just been postponed again. They hope to play it in 2034 now.

    Don't be silly.

You could see from his 8am report that the pitch was never going to be playable even if we had 30 degree temperatures on Saturday lunchtime. There was absolutely no need or requirement to confirm it was still unplayable at 3pm and I'm damn sure Mick Doyle only did what he did because he was fed up with people like you questioning his groundsman skills.

Leave the decision on if a match goes ahead to the people who actually have a scooby do.

No, but absolutely a pointless exercise going out there at 8am. Do you agree?

It’s accepted that at PL / Championship or clubs with new stadiums that they don’t need precise information on the state of their pitches because unless extreme, the weather isn’t a factor of whether the game is at risk.
But whilst we have probably the worst pitch in the EFL, in the worst geographical area and any element of inclement weather poses a risk to the match then I think it’s fundamental that the club keeps fans fully up to date.
We’ve not heard a dickie bird today despite looking out of the window and seeing the weather forecast. Why not?

I can't see it from my window, however the people there will have an idea. The drainage at VP has always been a problem. I've been at games which have kicked off and been abandoned 30min in due to a downpour. I think we played Barnsley once in a cup game where that happened. So a pitch that is already in a bad state to start with would take even less of a downpour.

No, he was simply proving to people like you, who doubt that the club did it's best to put on the match, that it was totally unplayable. Shut up and accept that if a groundsman and a PGMOL official have inspected it then the decision is correct.

Your moaning is just based on your plans being ruined, not the safety of 22 players. You'd soon be wearing the boot on the other foot if Cook had fallen and broken his hip on a clearly frozen pitch.

Dunno how accurate Parker is with his predicted lineups in his match previews. But he seems to be confident that the game is going ahead tonight but also printing in his prediction that there will be no Richards or Young in the 18. Again, no idea how accurate his predictors are, but as a man who speaks to the club fairly regularly if not daily, you'd expect them to be fairly on the ball.

Don’t tell me to shut up, I’ll say what I want, when I want and unless anyone can prove otherwise I’ll insist the match could have gone ahead on Saturday at 3pm.
The video Mick did at 8am was a waste of time.

In any event, the club need the referee to be there to make any decision.

I personally wouldn't be posting "pitch inspection at ___" until the referee was there. All it takes is the referee to be a bit late and people start losing their minds.

I also wouldn't be commenting on the state of the pitch until the referee has made a call. If they say it's not looking great, with minute-by-minute updates, yet the game is on, anyone cancelling their plans will cry foul. If they say they think the game might go ahead, and it doesn't, guess what? People will cry foul.

Best to just wait until the referee is there, then schedule an inspection, but there's simply no way an inspection could have taken place this morning before it even started raining.

Funnily enough that was postponed a year later for a dry river bed.

What time do you think the match referee arrives?
He doesn’t have a 5 course meal in the banqueting suite 3 hours before?

You really are deluded aren't you. Basically what you are saying is you know better than the professional groundsman and a referee, all done through your special powers to judge the state of a pitch whilst being miles away from the ground.

The video that Mick did was absolute proof that the pitch was unplayable, but hey, you know best.

Still, at least your comments are providing a laugh. Don't take up a career as a weather man.

Everyone's entitled to an opinion but then we can also critique that opinion. And I've got to say that's right up there with some of the dumbest posts ive seen on here.
