They aren't really underdogs though and haven't been since the takeover they have huge resources at their disposal. They would be massive favourites to go up next season with the squad they have now but i do think they will have to pay championship wages because surely there are clubs trying to tempt Mullin away. I'll also be interested to see how financial fair play hits them.

What we're seeing from Lewis now is fatigue. He's never played a full season. He's keen, got the right attitude, wants to do well but what he doesn't have is that experience of having played 40 games and there's still a few more to go AND they're really important. He'll learn a lot from this season. Let's just hope the few errors that have been creeping in stay away for the next 10 days!

Technically very good, bit inconsistent. Not sure where he'd fit into your current system, also a bit on the small side.

 

FFP wouldn't stop them, but the probable wage budget cap might.

This is all according to TransferMarkt. I don't really care if any of the info is inaccurate.

Johnny Williams contract is up at Swindon Town. Welsh international, too good for them, can Hughes bring him in? Still a good player. Imagine him as an upgrade on Gilliead...
Ethan Chislett contract is up at Wimbledon. 9 goals from midfield. Exactly what we've lacked!! This is what we wanted from Walker, but ultimately Walker has had a mediocre, injury-hampered season. 24 years old, so perfect Hughes age lol
Ibou Touray contract is up at Salford City. 9 assists from left back, which has been our weakest position all season.
Rushian Hepburn-Murphy contract is up at Swindon. The kind of useful, pacy forward/winger we need, particularly as a squad player.
Baily Cargill contract up at Forest Green Rovers, he's been a solid L1 player, and helped them to the title last year.
Conor Grant contract up at Plymouth, another player who knows what it takes to get promoted from L2. 28 year old central midfielder. We can't be relying on Clayton and Smallwood, let's be honest.
Charles Vernam contract up at Lincoln - I know, I know, ex-City and turned us down for Lincoln, but he was pretty good at L2 level...
Luke Leahy contract up at Shrewsbury, can play midfield or defence, but scores regularly - very unlikely signing, but if we were going to replace Smallwood with a 'good' signing, this wouldn't be a bad pick

A couple of these wouldn't be bad.

I know we'll end up signing mostly players I'd never be able to pick out of a police lineup, but whatever.

 

City made him look quality, like they have done with other teams and players.

 

Looks a really good player but unless we are promoted we haven’t a cat in hells chance

 

I think the recruitment was decent in the summer but I wonder how much consultation there was between Hughes and the chief scout. For instance East looks like a good player and seems to impress every time he plays but seldom gets a chance and there are others in the same boat.
I think a slightly smaller Squad next season with ability and fit into the managers thinking

 

I'm sure I remember him scoring against us on his debut on loan for someone, back in League One. A quality player and we need more quality and pace up top next season.

 

He certainly looked to have pace against Stubbs, where was Halliday, both goals coming from that side of the pitch, although fof Crewes second Halliday did try to block the cross.

 

The proposed cap isn't for an individual player though, it's a set percentage of income which can be spent on wages.

 

We desperately need some pace injected into the team and this lad has strength to match it. With him being a free agent it also looks like a good fit on paper.
