I thought Tom Nichols was good when we played Gillingham, don’t know his situation with the Gills.

Good player but the Gills have the money to fight us off

He only signed for Gillingham in January. He's going nowhere.

Been impressed by Knoyle, Bristow, Kemp and Agyei. Plus we need to make better use of loan market and target good prospects rather than cheap squad fillers that add no quality.

Agree with this. Especially if we're going to continue to defend corners with 11 men in the box. We need someone with pace to get the ball up the pitch otherwise we've got no threat.

No, because "the loss bit" comes at the end. What they are doing is giving Salford a donation of £x million and Salford spend that £x million. So, they aren't making a loss. They are spending what the owners have given them plus whatever turnover they expect to make.

If they were covering a loss, then Salford would spend whatever they want and if the turnover didn't cover the expenditure then the owners would agree to pay whatever the difference is.

They are underwriting losses. Without the donation it would be a huge loss.
All clubs will work to a budget, so they will largely know what the losses will be at the start of each season.

    No. Totally the opposite.

If the money wasn't put in then they wouldn't spend it.

Salford wouldn't be spending that money if Neville and Lam weren't putting it in.

It's not like they went out and spent a load of money they didn't have and then Neville et al came along and paid their losses.

I understand what you're saying but you're looking at it the wrong way round.

I think we are getting to a point of splitting hairs purely for the sake - ultimately the point was that the "wage cap" in place via SCMP is slack at best.

I will just say personally I think a slack approach is best as some clubs have more money to spend than others. just a fact of life really!

either way they wouldn't pump as much money into the club, if donations or equity into the club counted as turnover.

for Wrexham (the original club in question) this will be a complete non issue seeing as Reynolds himself is worth around $350m

Cole Stockton been released by Morecambe, scored quite a few in recent weeks, and a lot last season .If Cook leaves he might be worth considering.

Don't look like they're planning a swift return to League One based on who they've released , especially Stockton , thought they'd have at least offered him a deal , Intersting , but think we might be having a go for Agyei from Crewe

Hopefully as good as anything we have seen this season. Perhaps the Hughes factor could tempt Jonny Williams from Swindon who is out of contract

Probably can't afford his League One wages now they're sunk. Probably incentivised his original L2 contract, and after that they had to stay up to have a hope of keeping him.

At least that's what I'm guessing.

If we go up, I'd have him.

Stockton in talks with Lincoln already from the sounds of it. Charlton rumoured to be interested again too after being knocked back in Jan.

Worth noting Morecambe released everyone and haven't even offered a single new contract to anyone, they currently have 6 players under contract for next season.

Like I said above, wonder if that's wages, but it could just be a Derek Adams paddy

Guy's not exactly calm and composed at the best of times! Dour old sod.

I'd almost be surprised if we didn't sign Liam Gibson, to be honest.

Almost the prototypical Stephen Gent profile.

I'd take Ripley to give genuine back up to Lewis if he could be tempted

As long as he doesnt have his brother attitude when leaving Everton thinking he's billy big balls because Lampard gave him a few games as Everton were struggling, but he looks as you say a Gent type of player.

I'm sure I read somewhere that the current owners put the club up for sale a few months ago. They don't want to put any more money into the club and there's been no interest from potential buyers, so I'm guessing they will be doing their summer shopping in the yellow sticker aisle.
