Mansfield and Sutton drawing was perfect for us.

Mansfield, like us, not taken advantage of their games in hand these week.

Apart from Salford, all the top teams seem to be struggling for goals at the moment.

I accepted weeks ago that we are play offs at best, this thinking has eased the pain hugely and if we by some miracle we get autos then that's just a huge bonus, but I've being preparing myself for the play offs weeks ago.

No it wasn’t we needed one of them to lose to drop off the pace.

Now we have Mansfield, Sutton, Barrow (who a flying at this moment) all now within in 6 or less points to us)

 

Just caught up on todays results and after having a look through it obviously wasn't perfect but it was also far from a disaster with a couple of results in our favour.

I was just about to make the same point.

 

I’d not bother trying to talk sense! It ultimately comes down to us and has we played and won yesterday we’d have put a further two point gap on Mansfield and Sutton and gained 3 on third. It’s nonsense to say they weren’t good results. But it only matters if we win of course.

 

I’ve looked at all the run ins of the top 7 and I’m quietly confident that we’ll take a top 3 spot.
Sky Bet have us at 7/1 to finish in autos.

 

We are also within 6 points of not making the play offs at all.

 

Stevenage likewise in regards to the automatics

 

Well it’s up to our team to make sure they at least make the playoffs, which is a minimum from here. You’ve said yourself a million times focus on our own results, so stop dwelling on worst case scenarios and focus on ourselves getting the required points. It’s in our own hands, which is more than can be said from the last 5 years at this stage of a season.

 

Winning just 4 of the remaining 9 games would have to be labelled as failure at this stage of the season.

I don't think we'll make it but 7/1 is very generous imo.

 

Oh I am firmly concentrating on us and our form is a concern to even make the top 6.

 

Still can't rule out winning the league. Orient won't be champions and Northampton are there to be caught. The top 3 now will not be the top 3 in May. Carlisle could do us a favour by beating Orient next week.

 

Look at Orient’s run in, it’s entirely possible that they might only win 2 or 3 more games.
However, I hope they will them all and are already champions before we play them as I’m certain we’ll need to beat them.
