A friend of mine knew BFG really well, same synagogue and some business dealings. As soon as he took over he told me he'd bankrupt the club. A man with great vision and ideas let down by being a greedy narcissist, so I never really took to him. I'm not saying I didn't enjoy the highs but I expected that he'd leave us in the shit. Such a shame really

Richmond was a guy you could be mad as hell and you couldn’t wait to get to one of his forums to tell him so. And within minutes he would have you eating out of his hands.
He worked hard and ran the club well for 75% of his time unfortunately he then spoiled his legacy at the end.
I don’t bear him any I’ll will though because it was great whilst it lasted. I keep asking Parker to do an interview with him which I think would be a good read

Harry Lewis will be a premier league goalkeeper one day. That I have no doubt about. Reminds me a lot of Schwarzer.

Easily worth a 7 figure sum even now only a few months into his football league career.

    Up the fecking chickens.

Firstly, Harry has to be one of the clubs most likeable players since Gary Jones. Honestly cannot remember anyone since who has endeared himself to the club and supporters so much. To me, that puts some prospective behind his importance to the club.

On the flip side of that I’d like to think Harry recognises what the club has given to him and respects the playing opportunities he’s had so far, as well as the relationship the supporters have created with him.

As much as many of us are concerned about how long we can keep hold of him on current form, let’s also remember he’s only played 30 first team games on loan in Scotland before joining us. Secondly he’s been given a decent contract term with us. Given this, his relatively lack of playing experience as well as his age, I’d like to think (hope) if we can gain promotion we can keep hold of him and maybe tie him up to a longer contract for security for all parties.......just a thought.

It's all about opinions isn't it unfortunately there are others who do not share yours, as @andyc@andyc comments there was no middle ground with BFG very much a marmite type of guy.

    Championship for me.

The good thing is he'll be quality when we go up, too.

I think that Harry is not just a future premier league goalie but also a remarkable young man. From day one at the club he has worked over-time at connecting himself with the fans, giving alot of his time to meet people and spend some laughs and fraternity with supporters. It's no surprise he's so popular. And let's face it, this lad is a bloody good goalie.

Spot on. He brought something I thought I would never ever see in my lifetime after spending all those seasons fighting against relegation in a , looking back, god awful place called Valley Parade. Loved the place in one sense, because that’s all I knew for 25 years, but it was ruddy awful!

We’re you at that meeting at VP Dave , when he introduced the new “ sensation” was it Regtop?

I recall really well BFG doing the intro speech.
    I quote

“He doesn’t score goals, he passes it into the net”

    Never forgot those words!

It is without doubt the ‘6 weeks of madness’ that caused the periods of administration and the selling of the stadium but we are 20 years on from that so to blame him for our current woes are a tad unfair.
Many other clubs have had more severe financial problems than us in recent times but most have recovered and some are in a better position than they were before.

Another two positive thoughts Loyal - he left us with the best stadium in the lower leagues and a long-awaited sense of ambition.

Thing is that he didn't pass it into the net very often at all. Master bullshitter but with brilliant ideas doomed to failure because of his greed in the end. He left us with a fantastic stadium but because of his failings we own fck all

No he can't be blamed for our present situation we all know who is responsible for our decline over the what feels like an eternity rather than less than a decade ago.

As @Park bantam@Park bantam said you could go into a fans forum with Richmond blazing mad and after 10minutes sit back thinking I'm glad I never opened my mouth, unfortunately at the inaugural opening of the Great Horton Supporters Branch (at the Fat Pot Working Mens Club) I caught the wrath of big Geffrey's tongue when I questioned why he was allowing Dean Richards to move to Wolves in the 1994/95 season to help keep them up under Mark McGhee and I believed he would follow his loan with a permanent deal when we needed Deano for next season.
I believe his reply was something like 100,000 reasons !!! then went into great detail why it was a good move for both clubs and that Deano was very much a part of the clubs plans going forward, well we all know how that finished with regards Deano, although season 1995/96 didn't work out too bad for us.

Jewell peeing off to a club in financial meltdown should have been a big warning what was to come .......... amazingly Parkinson did the same thing and some of our fans scorned him for going to Bolton .......... Parkinson knew what was coming just a shame the fans who scorned his move where sucked in by Rahics bullshit :(

As for Richmond I could never fathom why people went easy on him .......... yes he got us to the premier league but sadly that damaged us for decades to come :( him and his family bled the club dry when they knew that the club was in a financial mess ............. is that really someone who should be held in high esteem????

Would you rather have bounced between the odd promotion to league one and relegation back to league two for a decade instead?

    Genuine question.

Do you guys know if BFG is still with us? I remember seeing an article a few years ago saying he was suffering from Cancer, but not really heard anything since?
