Has Harratt actually come out and said anything about not getting game time UG?
We know that his Dad Wayne has, but has Kian?
Not seen anything myself.

 

As yourself and Kev say he was poor and as someone who’s stuck up for Halliday i thought best not say on here! But as you say in his defence he’s rusty but in a competitive squad if you don’t get your chance tough.

I thought he was at fault for the first goal, or at least a part of the blame should have gone to him he offered their winger all the time in the world on the left in the build up. Halliday would have been pulled to pieces for it.

A guy who sits behind me has his favourites to criticise has been on at Halliday for weeks so decided to blame Smallwood instead for the first goal for taking a quick free kick at the other end of the pitch. Let’s be honest we can all be bias myself included, but sometimes you’ve got to accept you’re wrong. The fan behind me is an example of someone nano never will and no doubt Halliday won’t be able to put in a good performance now his minds set.

 

I myself have been a bit critical of Halliday but our defensive record is pretty good before Saturday at home of which he has been an ever present until Saturday. I'm not gonna all in on Hendrie for one game but when a chance arises you have to take it.

 

I believe Harratt will get his time to shine but will have to wait his turn. The difference between this recruitment and others previously is that everyone has been brought in with a specific role in mind, rather than the scatter gun approach we became used to. If Harratt doesn’t have the patience and wants to sulk (not that I’ve seen evidence from him), then that’s 1 in 18 that Gent may have got wrong. I’ve every confidence he’ll have a role to play during the season.

As fans, we should support the squad be it, Oliver, Harratt, Sutton or Hendrie so that when they’re called upon we give them our full backing.

 

Absolutely support the squad playing or not but we are also fully entitled to identify weaknesses as well as dishing out praise. What else is the transfer window for….eradicating weaknesses!

 

Irrelevant. Harratt actually needs to prove himself more than Oliver who has security.

 

Actually I agree, he wasn't great, but he wasn't a disaster either on a day when the whole team underperformed. Teams have been targeting our left side as a weakspot all season. I agree on current form Halliday should play next match, but he was equally poor the first few games when he wasn't match fit.

 

I don’t think you can eradicate weakness as there will always be better players than you have in your squad. The window should be used to improve what you have and on the whole I think that’s been achieved.

The problem as I see it is that a minority of fans are too willing to write players off before giving them a chance. Although Pereira has started his 2nd spell slowly, he’d would have been sent back to Luton before he’d kicked a ball.

 

I agree on current form Halliday will play next week. But I don't think Hendrie was a total disaster on a day when the whole team underperformed. And as I said to Kev. Teams have been targeting our left side all season.

 

He wasn't as bad as that. I quite like Hendrie as a player, I think he gets forward well when in the right set up. But he had a stinker on Saturday.

 

Well, Harratt has some security.

If he doesn't impress, or we don't play him, he'll be recalled in January.

Can't see Port Vale still being interested in him, even if the fans like him.

Off to Harrogate Town or similar.

 

It's a shame we're talking about this. I Hope this doesn't turn into another Jordan Gibson Saga if my dad did that I would be really disappointed he's put Kian in a difficult place where his attitude is being questioned now and that isn't good for any player. If he feels like that fine but he needs to speak to Town and City and thrash it out not do it in public. Does he really think Town want that. If Wagner comes back and doesn't fancy him having that baggage could seriously harm his chances he is after all a young, talented but totally unproven lad not a Striker with a goal scoring record.

At the moment no one in their right mind would drop Cook or change the style of play because of his form. Oliver clearly has a fantastic attitude and has looked better each time he's come on so he'd start for me.

I get his Dad just wants what's best for him and its up to him how he wants to go on but for me that isn't the right way.

I agree he wasn't at his best but don't think he had any more of a stinker than half the team. Didn't look match fit and as you rightly said hasn't done enough to challenge Halliday

I’d be embarrassed that someone with such esteem like MH has to respond to my dads comments. Have a word Kian. You don’t need some “soccer mom”questioning your managers tactics. Especially a manager that knows far more about football than your dad ever will.

 

As I've posted before I've been critical of the lad Halliday during his first few games I thought he was poor defensively in the air but after that the lad has done well.
Was it because he had a long spell out injured last season, I believe Saturday was Lukes first game back this season, It would have had to be some performance to stop Halliday regaining the RB shirt and Saturdays performance did not warrant that IMO although as you say many in the team last Saturday didn't do enough.

 

Where did I say he was a disaster, that’s wholly different to not having a good game. His game was weak, more so on the floor. Opposition have been targeting our right back at the back post with headers. Colchester and Hartlepool to name two.

 

Does his dad think he’s going to walk into the Huddersfield team ?
