Whilst agreeing with you on the financial side, why are all the reservoirs empty and why are some rivers drying up. It’s water that’s goes to waste through un repaired leaks that is the largest issue for companies yet lard arse allows them to get away Scott free!

I'd have thought the pitch would have been well scorched if it is but your right having second look it could be I was focusing more on the mill dam that @kevin was quoting, sorry if its offended anyone.

To be fair I was totally engrossed in the conversation with Bronco and Kevin about the Dam on the other side of Midland Road. It does look as though you could be right though.

I wasn't there on the day of the fire, I was at my mates wedding.

Shortly after that date I moved with my wife and kids to Dubai for a few years.

Post 40 is the burnt out stand, the one I posted in black and white is pre disaster from the 60,s I guess, because my old house is in the pic. It was demolished well before the disaster on post 40.

We'll have flooding then as the ground is so hard it won't soak it up, the rain will just run off according to Paul Hudson.

Yes that is the problem but again the news is sensationalising everything and yet again everyone falls for it.

It's not sensationalism, it's reporting what's actually happening.
Instead of having steady rainfall throughout the year, as well as snow, which melts slowly into the ground, were regularly getting much heavier rain in the winter, over a shorter period and then longer, dryer, hotter springs and summers. So much of the rain causes flooding and never finds its way into the ground to raise the water table.
We're forecast storms on Monday and Tuesday but that won't help much, because it won't soak in. It'll just run off and cause flooding.

I suggest you take a trip down to the Sea and fill up some bottles and then see how long you live drinking that water. We would need more than the 1 Desalination plant we have in the UK and right now not only are these expensive and require a fair amount of land but they are also really expensive to run and require a ridiculous amount of energy which isn't exactly the best thing right now. There are some advances and maybe in future these will be more viable but not right now

Certainly does. When I used to say I was born 50 yards from the Bradford End…..my old house as a nipper is right there in black and white

No it’s called summer and we are just having a hot one after many crap summers. Look at how they make the country look red in the forecasts which wasn’t done 20 years ago with similar temperatures. Scare mongering galore and they love it the crazy sociopaths.

True, Dave. Our garden is literally like concrete, most things are dead or dying . As we are on metered cost for water it gets too expensive. Water butts are also empty except one with about a third in it for the wife’s “ sentimental “ plants.
