Hope it doesn't mean we got screwed financially. It's always a worry for me that other clubs take the p@@s as we have a very inexperienced CEO who has never run anything before other than Twitter accounts.

Spennymoor's CEO could have less experience than Ryan. He might have got them to pay 150% of FCD's wages

 

Hope so but when a business you're dealing with comes out with stuff like Spennymore has it tends to suggest they've come out well from it. Run a tight ship is my motto.

 

Ryan’s found his feet now after a few calamities. He’s certainly no mug these days.

 

Show me anyone who hasn't made a mistake in any job there employed at, I honestly don't see the need for those's sort of comments, hey that's just my take on it, Ryan will make mistakes along the way who doesn't.

Sadly, I have to agree Dubois. FCD has had more chances than most of our younger players over the last couple of seasons and despite gaining more proper first team experience, he doesn't seem to have learnt much - makes the same mistakes, doesn't read the game very well. A long week in, week out run in a tough league will I hope do him alot of good. Ditto Staunton if he's put out on loan, another who was lauded early on but has flattered to deceive ever since. Telling that Halifax seemingly don't want to take him on. They need proper game time - and a big re-think from them both about how they plan to re-ignite their careers. I'd love it if they knuckled down and came back strong.

 

I think Staunton has been very unlucky he made an impression in his debut season then picked up an injury. He impressed in pre season last year and was never given a chance. He was played out of position against Derby and was slaughtered but was very good against York. I think he is good enough to play league football football

 

Nobody at a decent level will take him on loan though. BPA only team who've taken him.
If he can play in the FL why aren't NL clubs queuing up?

 

Would you be happy with him starting week in, week out for us? Because that's what he needs to kick on.

 

For Staunton, read Danny Devine. Always the next big thing. Home grown lad. Academy prospect. Unlucky with injuries. Played out of position. Shipped off on loan. Certain managers didn't rate him bla bla.

Devine has made 58 appearances in six years. Currently looking for a club after being released by Carlisle. Bowyer had him on trial last month at Dundee, but I don't know if he was offered anything.

I think Staunton would have made it at League Two level (with us or someone else) if he was good enough. Unfortunately (because we all love a home grown player to make it), he's not.

 

Not with us at the moment but I do think for his career he now needs to play league football so his agent should be trying to fix him up. Because if he goes out to non league he will disappear

 

Maybe we lowered the amount they pay towards his wages with a clause that he has to start every game if fit. Didn't you think of that O mighty one?

 

I can't think of one league 2 club where he would be a guaranteed starter. As Hughes said in his interview yesterday, if he gets an offer to go and play somewhere else, he needs to take it, wherever it is. FCD has played more league games than Staunton and has represented his country at under 21 level yet he has understood that he needs regular game time and has been prepared to drop even lower down the pyramid to get it. Staunton needs to do the same. If he goes out to non league and disappears then so be it, it will mean that he isn't good enough, but if goes out and cracks on, the potential that looked to be there a couple of years ago might start to shine through again.

 

Disagree I think he is a bit further on than FCD I think given a chance he could hold his own in the football league. Anyway we will see what happens but I fear for his career if he drops out the league again even it’s just a loan

 

He hasn't got a position. Not big enough for centre back, not fast enough for full back, not skillful or mobile enough for midfield. And there are other issues.

 

They've come out of it well by signing a player on loan with a number of league games under his belt and still young. It's a cracking signing for them
