Don't know if anyone's seen the latest inside training video, but there's a bit it in where the players are relaxing at lunchtime and a shirt is brought in for them to sign with the name Gibson on the back. Might be nothing, but someone on Twitter has done some digging and there's a young highley related right winger at Middlesbrough called Joe Gibson.
Could it be a clue to a potential signing? Given how well Dion seems to be doing for Luton in pre season, has that ship sailed and we are looking at an alternative?

 

Few quiet days at work this week has lead me down the path of reading various L2 overall forums, and it does seem like lots of teams are all looking for a big striker (as seems to be the cliche) and as a result just to throw a potential scenario out there near the end of the window we may just own the best L2 proven striker that’s available in Andy Cook, personally I’d like to keep him to see how he goes with better players and organisation around him, and there’s no way any team in L2 has a better 3rd/4th choice striker. But who knows desperation/competition late in window may bring offers that can’t be refused. Probably not but it certainly puts us in a position with Cook we can’t lose.

Why would they sign a shirt for a new signing though? They wouldn’t normally? Cant imagine there’s any link.

I agree the Dion ship has sailed. I don’t think we need him given the number of options we have now. Angol, Eisa, Young and Gillead are all options to play on the other side with Chapman and Walker.

 

The ship that is Dion is currently anchored off Luton, MH is still very much interested and is prepared to wait until the end of August for a decision on whether he will sail into Bradford again

 

It’s probably a birthday shirt. I have a birthday card signed by the full squad from a few seasons back. I’m sure you could do the same , via the club for a signed shirt? Notice how carefully Smallwood signed it?

 

Some clubs in the Prem and CC deliberately keep players from going to the opposition, I’d never thought I’d see City in L2 being able to do such a thing? Oh the luxury

 

Once the name Joe Gibson and Middlesbrough came up in the same search theres a big possibility he could be a loan replacement for Perriera who in all likelihood will not come back

 

We are waiting for Dion according to Hughes in todays T&A could be well after the season starts at the end of the window

 

Forget Dion although MH said still interested in the local rag, Jack Diamond would be a much better loan signing and as yet still available

 

Diamond is only going out on loan to a first division club Harrogate desperate to sign him up again and that’s what they have been told

 

I agree Kev, notice how there was a number on it when we haven’t announced squad numbers yet and no other signing has held up a shirt with a number on. It’s most likely as you say for signing and Gibson is probably the family name, might be someone who works at the clubs kid or something. People putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5 imo.

If that was it then they've quite possibly just ruined the birthday surprise by drawing attention to it. Not sure they would do that. There was no reason for the camera to move from where it was, it showed nothing but the shirt and the way they have played games with a few signings this window it wouldn't surprise me at all if this is another signing.

 

Im not saying it was one nor the other G, merely speculation what it could be. If we don’t see someone signed with that surname I’m right, if we do, then I’m wrong.
