Ryan will be the go between between Rupp and Hughes otherwise there is no point him being there. It will simply be a case of : "Ok, I'll ask Stefan and get back to you Mark."

Hence my last sentence regarding budget, that said he says they have equal input.

Don’t think Rupp will be involved in that at all Sparks will only involve Rupp if it involves extra money over budgeting amounts

Salford live within budget constraints? You are joking?
When they came up they were spending more on 6 central defenders than some teams whole budget.

anyways, enough about a National League side from Wales. Lets get back onto topic regarding Bradford City an our respective transfer rumours

is it likely for us to go ahead an sign anyone whilst the lads are out in Spain? There were obviously several rumours regarding certain players joining us.

The CM lad from Sheffield United, The RB from Portsmouth. Dion Periera. The winger from Norwich. Andy Carroll. Anyone got any updates?

I personally don't think there will be any confirmed signings until the lads return from Spain.

Andy Carroll is going to Guiseley .... and we are going up.

On other news 50% of city fan's going to York will be so pissed the final score will be irrelevant .

    Happy days!

Bolton budget was massive for league two they should have walked it the job he did at city was very good he built us up and we remain the only club he’s really done well at the other he’s had decent patches but last year he’s failed badly

Norwich winger was made up by a joke parody account, really not sure why people fell for that one.

On Pereira, he's in Slovenia until next week with Luton, they have a few friendlies next week so might well be involved in that. Doesn't look like there will be any movement on him for the short term.

Thought I would check in to read the latest transfer speculation and had to read through pages of boring non league stuff that has nothing to do with City.

Almost as bad as the random names thrown about on here on Sunday who were signing for us this week.

    Roll on the new season

To link the two discussions did we have a sell on with French or did we straight release him? If we did poor decision by the club as there was certainly potential there

I don’t think this season is gonna be as hard as people make it out to be. Im not trying to discredit the league or the teams who happen to be in it but end of the day, there’s 3 automatic positions up for grabs. Along with the play offs. Yes it may be tight up there, but every single team in this league will go through a bad patch. Thats league two football for you. nobody is consistent, injuries come at a premium this league an all it really takes is 2 or 3 main players to get injured or snapped up by other clubs in January for the wheels to fall off a promotion push

we finished mid table last year. did we even get into double digits for wins? an we finished comfortably mid table. Half the draws we had we should of won. Not a single team that came to Valley Parade impressed me in terms of out an out quality. Port Vale looked the most organised but thats about it.

Im not saying we are gonna storm the league, But we have a good manager, and a big an quality filled team. Competition for places all around the park. If we converted half our draws into wins we’d of been in the play offs. So can I ask, what truly is all this pessimism about?

When Salford came up I thought they’d storm the league. They’ve been in it for as long as we have. The teams that came down don’t faze me. Northampton Town does not faze me. Or the likes of Stockport or Doncaster or Mansfield. Automatic is the aim, Hughes said it himself, its a realistic aim. We can rotate players to keep the team fresh an avoid injuries, we’ve added much needed quality an pace up front. Nobody in this league is a world beater. People need to stop making it out as if we are gonna be up against the likes of Liverpool or Man City every week

We won 14 in all and lost exactly the same. Had we not won our last 3 games, we could have finished 5th from bottom of the league. Comfortably mid table?

We lost only 4 more than Bristol Rovers whom were promoted automatically. We turn half of last seasons draws into wins, we still would have been 6 points adrift of the play offs.

We conceeded more than all the top 7 and scored less than all the top 7. In no way am I being pessimistic but NONE of us, have a true understanding of the new players within our squad.

They may gel, they may not. But the league ain't going to be our greatest concern next out, our ability to score more (take a look at our attacking players stats) and our inexperienced defence (CHs, 78 league games between them and a rookie keeper). I'm struggling to see (at this stage) 'real' competition across the back 4. If Smallwood gets injured, who holds an inexperienced CH?

My concerns today are hopefully unfounded and you can give me some stick at the end of the season.

I think the type of football that Mark Hughes wants us to play will mean we will have more possession and hopefully won't concede so many. In the time he was with us last season he worked out that we have to deal with the physicality other teams throw at us with balls into the box. That is probably why we played so well at Sutton Utd, he had prepared us for it.

I'd tend to agree with that. Possession football looked his forte and I think we will have success. I was only trying to exemplify, that we didn't finish comfortably mid table last time out and we need to improve at both ends of the pitch. I'm still trying to understand where the main goalscorer is next season, an area we need to deliver upon. Plenty of time here mind.

We may still recruit someone but I think we should enough goal threat with what we already have and we may manage Angol's fitness better.

Luton have just signed Carlton Morris which should push Dion further down the pecking order.
