A whinge? I've literally just posted how much credit the club deserves for its approach this summer.

 

The emoji is a handshake which suggests another deal or deals - I'm thinking possibly an announcement about the younger lads that are being given contracts?

 

I must admit, I thought the same too. It does read like a cryptic teaser....

Possibly just seemed like maybe a double meaning and maybe he was told to say it, but who knows. I think the marketing team have been spot on this year and very creative (excluding the own the moment phrase).

 

I wouldnt really argue against that. I do like Gilli in the middle though. And TBF as things stand Id personally have Sutton as my RB. Do think we may bring in another though.

Yep. Most important time of the year now, bedding in so many new faces. Its probably wishful thinking on my part. Others have suggested a new RB and I could see the logic in that too tbf. Don’t see where else we’d need to recruit now, if its not a wideman or RB?

Unless he wants a target man striker to complement what options we have already, but not sure he’d want to set up that way this season.

 

I look at it like this

Cook one year left on his deal
Angol one year left on his deal
Plus a loanee

I think MH will keep his powder dry for the rest of the season knowing they will have to be replaced next close season by players from a higher level?

 

Hope so. If Harratt soon makes his mark we may face a situation where he is recalled in Jan - a nice problem to have though as it probably means we are up there at the time

 

I think Harratt may surprise us all.

 

That would be great but Luton said they want to take a look at him in pre season before making any decisions about him. They only returned to training on Friday so it might be a bit premature to think they've made their mind up about him already. (unless Dion has been deliberately crap to force a move )

No your right, it has been dire. However, our investment behind the scenes, is what we have needed for years. We just look like our club is not trying to wish ourselves into lg1, but doing the hard graft to get us there.

 

12 through the door and its not even July 1st. Superb fron the club.

 

That's a great summary, thanks. I can't argue with much of it. However, the big difference would appear to be the length of contracts offered now. That is definitely a bigger financial commitment and one I suspect is related to the supposed end of the pandemic. The previous shorter deals and possibly even the appointment of Adams were related to anticipated income levels at that time. Now, there are no excuses.

 

Great way to think about it. If a player is recalled he's done well and we have benefitted. That's all you need to think
