    You just know that we won’t get Smallwood but some 18year old from Middlesbrough on loan. That’s not a rumour it’s just what generally happens at Bradford City.

    Youd think Songo leaves if thats the case. This kid wont be here to make up the numbers. Hes 23....he come to start or be 3rd choice at worst.

    Well Twitter pages are linking us with Zak Brunt from Sheff Utd. Spent last season on loan at Notts County. To be honest I think our squad is shaping up very nicely. We seem to be building a young exciting team but with experience in key areas.

    We may well have the numbers but we still appear to be short of both quality and experience. It's a familiar story.

    Interestingly enough it would appear on the surface that pre season targets set by the manager and his backroom staff have to date been met.
    They have gone about their business in the market very professionally and I sincerely hope we and they reap the rewards for all their hard work this summer.

    Harry Chapman is an excellent signing. I really think he will be a stand out performer next season.

    Songo and Ridehalgh are both over 30. Doyle will be around the squad. If the rumours of a certain CM are true then thats enough surely. Cook another experienced head. Not forgetting Hendrie and Angol who are 27.

    I agree. I think kian harratt will be the surprise package. He has everything in his game to be a real asset according to Vale fans. A good run of games and think he can bring 15 goals next term.

    This is what City do, I’ve been checking all day on here & the T&A for the expected “marquee” midfielder from the championship……Instead we get a kid from Town and some kind of corrugated shed. Still confused as to what was wrong with the old shop & ticket office?
    Anyway, could be a good signing, in MH we trust!

    I agree, we’ve signed a lot of potential but no real experience that would justify us being favourites for promotion. We really could do with Smallwood but I was counting on the Hartlepool lad coming and I’m disappointed that it’s a loan of a young lad.

    Yes, we are very much dependent on Hughes .. and that's not to underestimate the roles of Hodges and Gent .. and we have no alternative other than place our trust in him.

    Some of the new recruits have referred to being attracted to playing for him at VP; Hughes himself has spoken about instilling a different approach in the players and it appears he is assembling a different balance in the squad from earlier seasons. Much now depends on him taking all of that and preparing a promotion quality squad. We'll have to wait and see whether he can do that and whether our trust is well placed or not.
