Don’t care as long we get the lad from Hartlepool.

He definitely looked better than Paudie up at their place.
He's only 22 though so we will have to pay a fee.

Paudie's strength was he always went in where it hurt, his weakness was that most of the time he was so late that the danger had passed or the other team had scored. I would have loved us to sign a replacement and keep him as back up rather than Kelleher, perhaps thats what we planned and thats why he left.

Either way, he and Watt are the two I'll lose no sleep over leaving. If Vernham goes too he will be the hardest to replace, but I'd be happy to take a punt on Eisa because I dont think Eisa and Vernham would be playing together anyway.

We will when you drive your mate DMac triumphantly through the Valley Parade gates and we start our feeder club programme with Huddersfield.

Good identification of his strength and weakness there I'd say.

Always worried me that he was about to do something rash or make a goal conceding error.

    Anyway, good luck to him.

As soon as we signed Platt you knew he was off.

With East and Paddy here in midfield, it’s inevitable Watt will be the next confirmed departure.

A likeable player but for me just not a very good footballer for all the reasons already mentioned.

I would have been happy with releasing him anyway rather than offering him a new deal so really not too fussed he's gone.

We do need to replace him though so hopefully we have someone in mind and preferably sobering who doesn't look like he's running in quicksand when chasing strikers.

I think Watt is very good. Not certain he's needed at L2 level is you're going to have Walker and say two other ball playing attackers.

Vernham did end the season well - but some seem to have forgotten that earlier in the season he could fade better than any of them. And he was dropped for arguably our best away performance at Swindon (or certainly 2nd best)

i think he must be. Not bothered about this in the slightest tbh its time to freshen things up here after the recent disappointing seasons. Vernon and Watt i would be more bothered about, a clogger centre half less so.

Platt is Canavan's replacement from January as far as I'm concerned.

The lad from Walsall is a totally different type of player to Watt and East.

decent defender for this level. Does now have the chance to showcase whether he is cut out for League One football. He wasn’t afraid to put his body on the line an he was good in the air. Downsides were he was slow, wasn’t the best on the ball an always had a reckless moment in him that either lead to a red card or a goal

Either way, best of luck to him

I think we can all agree that the away wins at Mansfield, Swindon and Sutton were probably the three best performances of the season

I'm confident that DMac and DFerg will bring Paudie, our Eternal Captain, back as soon as they are in situ at VP.

Agreed, every time he shaped to pass the ball across the back , I winced. Of late he’s been better defending but has Hughes said was a requirement of any defender, he should be able to distribute. Sadly PO couldn’t to save his life. Good luck to him but he needs to address the headless chicken mannerisms.
