Best of luck to him, thought Songo’o was the better under Hughes though he’s very replaceable. Hoping he already has been.

Obviosuly would have liked him to stay but I'm fairly meh on this as I think he is replaceable with someone more suited to our style of play and I would like some experience because we have a young squad. Considering where they finished last season and the players leaving they could struggle

Good luck to him, hopefully we will be passing him for 23/24. Not irreplaceable.

Just can't believe this, the mainstay of our successful sides over the last few years, an inspiration, gone just like that.

Not sure we'll recover from this.

Feel a bit ‘meh’ for him TBH. Don’t envisage Lincoln doing anything next year and he’d been linked with big clubs.

still, it is a step up the league again and he’ll be on more money.

He always gave his all here so thanks to him for the service he gave us.

Probably frees up more funds as he was one of the higher earners , let's see if Vernam joins him there.

That’s the way to look at it imo, wish him luck but look to improve on him and make him wish he’d not left in a years time. That’s all you can do with any player in the lower leagues really, no pettiness just look to the future.

I genuinely thought that when Andrew Davies left. Then we replaced him with Reece Burke.

Good luck to the lad. Deserves a crack at L1 football. Unlikely to get it here under Rupp.

    Rupp out

I rate Paudie so this is disappointing. I think he's got everything you'd want from a CB at this level so fair play for getting a decent move up a division.

We now have to replace him with proven quality.

Well i am a bit surprised at that. Yes a step up in league position, but after being linked to Sheff Wednesday It does just seem a bit of an anti climax .More money i suppose. Good luck to the lad though.

He got lost on the way to Sheffield and thought the red & white was blue & white. So he did !

All the best to him. Players deserve to play at the highest level they can, but frankly I've never understood why he got so much praise amongst fans - or rather was always let off the hook.

He's too erratic for me - memorably against Mansfield (it might have been Swindon) when it was Songo constantly bailing him out.

However, he could be a player who plays better at a higher level, where he has to concentrate more and has better players around, i.e. like Andy O'Brien.

Anyway, he was last on my Paudie, Vernam and Watt list - so not that bothered.

Platt seems fine. Not certain why he gets bracketed in with Kelleher. I'd be OK with Platt / Songo and would wager it would be a more consistent pairing.

However, we do need another CB as the way Hughes plays, Songo would be ideal playing a pure CDM role.

Never understood why Wednesday, who will be expected to get automatic promotion would be interested in a player, that for most of his career with us as his been the weaker CB.

But good luck to him, he was a likeable character and certainly a player who gave his all.

I'm sure that @Parader@Parader is been a bit tongue in cheek. Certainly I hope so as I'm trying to remember what "successful side" we've had!!

For me he lacked mental consistency. There was a match, I think it was Mansfield or perhaps Swindon, where he was so terrible you winced everytime he went near the ball.

I actually rate him as worse than most of his centre half partners. Certainly worse than Antony O'Connor and the pre-injury Canavan plus OSongo after Hughes arrived.

I'd also argue that the lad from Barrow who's defence wasn't a disaster is, for L2, "proven quality".

We do need someone else though.

Yes, amazing how Watt, Paudie and Vernam have turned into world beaters in the last couple of months.
