Having the opportunity, isn’t exactly a guaranteed place? Any squad member has the “opportunity “ .
Some on their forum seems to think he’s going as back up . It’s a strange one perhaps?

 

I wasnt suggesting Platt being a bench warmer. I think he will be a starter, but I think we need someone other than Songo'o though to partner him.

 

Watt will leave but the compensation is a stumbling block for a lad who's not certain to make someone else some money and for league one clubs who aren't all flush.

I suspect Watt is off to a league one club because that is why he said "see you soon" to Paudie. Not because he was joining Lincoln but because he was going to a league one club.

 

If you read the posts on their forum from the link shared earlier then their fans don't see him as first choice unless he plays in a back three! They apparently have five centre backs now although one might be a right back.

If he's going to start he'll need a good pre-season.

Only just seen this news. I can’t say I’m too bothered. I love the player and I think he is a fantastic character but he doesn’t have a footballing brain. He is the player that’s good to have in the dressing room and to get the fans on their feet but not much more. We can certainly replace him. I will miss him though.

Good luck to Paudie anyhow. He always gave 100% for us and I will miss him being here.

He will be harder to replace than a lot are giving him credit for, at this level, in my opinion

The report in the local Lincoln rag makes it very clear he's joining when his city contract expires

 

Officially that's when Lincoln will start paying him for his services but I think it's highly likely Paudie will be there to start pre season training in the last week of June.

 

Doubt that very much.

 

He like all signings currently officially join on the 1st of July.

 

they are fourth and fifth choice really. kelleher was used last season when the first choices were picked.

maybe I just rate Songoo more than most but under Hughes he looked great to me. I wouldnt drop him and so rather then spending money on a third choice CB id first address other areas - an experienced midfielder that could maybe captain the side first of all
