    Hughes is in control, and I'm only interested in what happens on the pitch this coming season.

    I don’t think Morrison’s have ever sponsored us before, Sir Ken was totally against that sort of thing. He used to be on the board in Bob Martins reign but I don’t think he put a lot of money into the club. I do think he helped being a sort of financial advisor dealing with the banks.

    Well the 1.1 million they are hoping to achieve in commercial activity a record for this league apparently will be going a long way to help Hughes get the players he wants

    Aye, I know. It's obviously part of the job and he probably does believe what he's saying but there are only so many times I can hear 'competitive budget', 'provide the best conditions', and 'we'll give it absolutely everything' in a post or pre-season interview without swearing. I just want to see the results on the pitch.

    I don't care, I don't need updating on such things.

    The club have already promised to meet Hughes' needs, I don't need the club patting themselves on the back for following through.

    It's the minimum I expect from the CEO, and it's based on what he's already said.

    He can fade into the background now, until something interesting is happening.

    Been trying not to but.... Argh... OK, fine, I am not sure where he would fit in. He is a midfielder, right? So is he competing for the positions that Watt and Gilliead had at the end of the season? Can't see it myself. However, if he scores from the half way line....

    Isn't he too old to do that kind of role though? I can't see him tracking back and covering the defence like a young chap like Watt would.

    I think adam would be a good signing, yes age isn’t on his side but he would bring great experience alongside a lot of young players all over the squad! To me he’s exactly the player I would want, in the dressing room etc been captain all over and he even played 30 odd games in SPL last season so shows he still got the legs

    What's more, the Dundee gaff questioned his ability to play 90 minutes.

    Obviously could do a job, but when you're signing a veteran midfield general, playing 90 week in, week out is a given for me.

    I'm erring on the side of him not playing next season, but who knows! He might fancy giving it one more go somewhere.

    Blackpool as player/coach?
