Wouldn't read a great deal into it, it was first posted on twitter by a "transfer rumour" account with 6 followers, that was created yesterday. It also said Portsmouth and Ipswich were after him i think.

I believe he did RT. That was a great two legged game, just the wrong result.

Songo dealt with Patrick on Saturday no problem, with regards the Hanson sending off I believe it was the pass rather than James pace.

In fairness to Hanson, once he actually got up to speed he wasn't slow by any means. His problem was that it took a good 10 yards to get there.

Sorry to keep harping on about this but Sunderland still haven’t made there mind up about Jack Diamond and could still loan him out for another season. If this is so we should be pulling out all the stops to get him in a City shirt. He would be a kingpin in our team .

If they go up, which seems likely now, they probably will loan him out again. Can't see him stepping up to Championship level just yet. You would think they would try and get him in at a League 1 club though.

I think Mark Hughes should be on the phone to Alex Neil the day after Sunderland are promoted.

I need something stronger than a cup of tea reading that ;).

I'm sure we could all quote an instance to prove a point, but mine was as a old head in the game he could help Paudie with his experience very similar to the reason McCall wanted to keep Matt Kilgallon , that's of course if Paudie is still with us.

I think Gareth Ainsworth and his Wycombe Wanderers team might have a different view, to be honest over the two legs I wasn't impressed with either Sunderland or Wednesday.

I agree I didn’t see much of a step up between our recent performances and theirs over the two legs. My boss is a season ticket holder at Sunderland and said the quality since Covid has really diminished in league 1, maybe due to the long lay off for players and the salary cap which was later binned? I watched Wrexham v Stockport on Sunday and if I didn’t know football I’d have said both fixtures were in the same division. No wonder promoted teams from this level often make a comfortable step up.

It looks like the type of football that Mark Hughes wants us to play is not too different to what Stuart McCall had us playing. I expect with the recruitment that Mark Hughes/Glynn Hodges and Stephen Gent have in mind we will hopefully see a better end product. Had we had better finishing a lot of those drawers would have been three pointers.
On the plus side Mark Hughes coming into the job with a chunk of the season left he has had chance to see the physical demands of this league and work out how to deal with it, like we did with Sutton United.
He also won't have Edin Rahic's ego to work against.

Might not be as plain sailing for Sunderland, as someone else said they didn't look impressive at all, but Wycombes sitting back and counter style on a pitch that big compared to the pace Sunderland have out wide might not go too well.

On Diamond, i think he's off to L1 but someone might be able to get in there quickly. Sunderland are in talks with Tom Barkhuizen, just released by Preston. If they add him to those two attacking winger options, doesn't leave much room other than a bench player at best at Sunderland next season.

Fair comment Dave, however the knee problem turned the 10 yards into 15-20! I’d certainly put him on a par with Bobby Campbell’s turn of speed when at full tilt.

Sunderland should have won the first leg 3-4 nil and did a job on Wednesday last night. Alex Neil has done a good job there since going in.
Diamond will end up in league 1 next season either with them or someone else if they go up.

Why? Because you said so and you can only think of that player?

Hughes as a network and we now have a head of recruitment. Let them do their job instead of your pointless wild guesses.

There wasn't much football played last night! Both teams looked physically strong though. A lot of our players would get bullied at that level.

If they haven’t made up THEIR mind, there is nothing we can do until……they do.
