And a goal direction finder so his headers and shots don't threaten the corner flag.

The problem is nothing is ever Derek's fault. He'll blame anyone and anything but himself. He's proving a major disappointment. A completely uncalled for response about Crankshaw's performance today. The guy seems to be losing it, by the week.

I don't think he is calling them out tbh sounded more to me he's implying that players have been let off the hook for shite performances and the managers suffered rather than them get the hard word because the players have held too much power at our club.

What are Sparks and Rupp gonna do sack him? he's a proven good manager at this level as someone else has pointed out they need him more than he needs us he'll get another job in management easily will we find a manager with his record? I'd say that's doubtful I'd say the power lies with Adams. Happens all the time in private industry that the employees hold the cards rather than the owners.

Wow indeed. And I absolutely agree with Adams. People have been dodging the truth at our club for far far too long. This was the most honest - brutally honest - manager's view of us as a club for a long time, not just on today's result, but on the player culture at the club, the complacency, the sense of entitlement just to go up. I think it will be a very tasty week in training this week! Players are going to be eviscerated.

That's one interpretation the other is that he isn't going to stand for bad displays and the whole team is in the dog house

If Adams is half the manager Sparks seems to think he is there's half a chance he'll get this lot whipped into shape in time but we certainly aren't there yet

Can see a very busy January window ahead if Adams is truly in full charge of transfers.

Sparks only chance of saving face will be to give Adams the tools to get the job done in January. Get rid of the deadwood in our team like Evans an Lavery an bring in a solid target man who can stay fit throughout the season. I think we’l be okay in terms of wingers once Eisa is back Fit therefore the other main concern in the team is an attacking midfielder. Unless Cooke is firing on all cylinders, our attacking output is shit

I'm sure many of us will find his assessment of Crankshaw puzzling when he's created only our second assist in 7 games.

He talks sense but again demonstrates that he's rather like a petulant child when he wants to be.

Against United U23s it was that City fans wanted to see players given a chance and they failed. Now here Crankshaw created only our second assist in seven matches having been given zero game time by Adams in the league and yet he responded abruptly that he didn't have an impact? Nonsense.

He talks sense but he needs to have more control over his emotions and not respond so petulantly.

Agreed unless somehow he sees Crankshaw as someone who in general isn't putting the effort in enough to get regular game time and feels withholding praise might encourage him to give even more

I don't know anything about Crankshaw because he's barely played but I was surprised he didn't start today must be a reason for it

Definitely going to give Adams the benefit of the doubt but see what you're saying for sure from the outside in it looks like a silly statement by Adams

Just listened to the interview and to be honest what he said was bollocks, And blaming what other managers have done over the last two or three years is a complete joke, Many more comments like today and he will lose the dressing room and have no effect at all,

All change again? There's the little problem of finding takers for the unwanted players, that he's publicly written off, to make room for the signings.

I think it's poor management. There was no need to single out Crankshaw, which is effectively what he did.

He can't absolve himself of responsibility.

Playing the same team, same formation, same tactics, late non-impactful subs, match after match is just helping the opposition. We could all explain how to beat us from just watching the matches so far. No surprise Walsall, Barrow, Crawley worked us out.

It is no good him blaming the players Again when he is as bad picking the same ones who are letting him and the team down

Adams blames the players when they're not performing well or not giving the best of what they're capable of. Which ergo, is why we're losing games. It's clear to us fans and anyone else who's watching - so why should the manager get blamed for shite performances on the pitch? He works with them through the week, sets up the best strategies and tactics for them to approach every match. His tactics have been good - the players have been awful in delivering them. Too many players 50 per cent, not thinking hard enough, not being smart, not improvising and thinking out of the box. And until they do, that's why they'll continue to be Lg 2 or National League players. Sad, but true. Callum Cooke has been great for me. But the likes of Watt, Crankshaw, Vernam and Gillead should be consistently pulling up trees week in week out for Adams, flair players who currently are so hit and miss, and mostly miss. Four players who should be having a long hard look at themselves and working BIG TIME on how they can improve.

He described them as "top notch" this week! As I said, he's losing it.
