Lee Turnbull shown the door?

Not a suprise. He was brought in to help the rookies with recruitment. Since then he’s been very quiet, and looking at the last transfer window, probably on gardening leave!
I think it’s a case of Sparks throwing all his ideas at the marketing wall, and hoping something sticks. This one didn’t.
Can we get Agard in the building now please.

 

I can see why many people were not happy with Theo Robinson as our late late signing, and I can't imagine he was in Adams top five striker 'hopes' in the window. But let's give the guy a chance. OK, his goals per games isn't anything special, but he has scored over 100 league goals from Championship down. You just never know - a player gets on a confidence run and suddenly the guy no-one rated is knocking them in for fun. Let's hope that's the case. Re. Adams and Trueman, everything I've read and heard suggests that it was Adams who chose Trueman as his No.2. Whether that's club spin or not, we'll probably never know. But...Adams does have a history of taking on new No. 2's at every club he's managed.

I've seen both of Robinson's sub appearances, albeit they were fleeting, and he's had a decent chance each time. Lavery on the other hand, whilst not playing much more, I'm not sure has even made it into the opposition penalty area!

Ideally we'd have signed neither and combined their wage to sign one better striker.

Not too bothered about Turnbull going to be honest always thought his salary would have been better spent on the playing staff
All those criticising his signings (me included) should remember at the back end of last season following the departure of the joint management team Mr Sparks was telling us the "new manager we now know to be Mr Adams had FULL input and FINAL say on all transfer activity/retained list

 

Agree, but on your final point, there just ain't many out there. Available goal scoring strikers in the lower leagues are as rare as rocking horse shit.

 

Interesting how us "1903" members didn't get this as breaking news.

 

Surely if he wasn't happy he could have blocked it same with Trueman's appointment
Jury out for me with Mr Adams whether he will be a success or not
Especially with the old chestnut "Hoping for a better January transfer window " being uttered

I mentioned earlier to the ire of one or two here that I felt there would be a power struggle as Adams was frustrated and needed absolute control.I don't know to what extent Turnbull influenced incomings although that was his role, but I don't feel they have been the best.Happy to have the one man at the helm.

Presumably hitting send to the 1903 members was Turnbull's responsibility. He's certainly not been spending any time scouting players. Nobody to do it since he left to tell you of this bit of news

 

Hopefully that's now the end of Scunthorpes unwanted trash...

Adams will have had the final say on every summer signing. Not sure if Turnball was involved in identifying targets but Angol, Songo’o, Threkeld and Ridenhalgh will have all been Adams signings.
Maybe with his Scunthorpe connections Turnbull will have had a hand in the Eisa and Gillead signings but I don’t really see how. It’s not like the players have anything to do with a head of recruitment and both players especially Gillead was being looked at by league 1 clubs.
It could just be that Adams doesn’t feel he needs a head of recruitment and can identify targets himself.

 

I can’t see there being a power struggle really. Maybe Turnbulls position was untenable if Adams decided to ignore his recommendations. Adams had the last say regardless.

 

Manager Derek Adams will announce a restructure to the club’s recruitment department in the coming weeks.
I might be wide the mark here but it wouldn't surprise me at all, if someone out there as become available who Derek has worked with before.
Today's news would suggest Adam's is now starting to assert himself at VP having taken stock, he's gathered his thoughts and seemingly now knows the mammoth task in hand to get Bradford City moving in the right direction.
Every move Adam's makes will be scrutinized and dissected by media and fans alike in the coming months.
The big question is can he pull off promotion were others have failed miserably or will he too become another victim of the management merry go round only time will tell.
