Not sure to be perfectly honest.
What I will say is Derek Adams has and will continue to base games on percentages which as proved successful in the past.
But with the best will in the world you can have the lion share of possession and be beaten like yesterday in the dieing minutes of a game.
He's played one up front at other teams he's managed week in week out, not my cup of tea personally especially if you struggle to score whilst on top.
I prefer a strike partnership they tend to be more fruitful than a lone figure trying to do it all.

So many managers on this forum. Derek Adams plays a 4-2-3-1 or like he did at Morecambe a 4-1-4-1. Either way it’s one striker up top on his own. So it’s highly unlikely we will see a partner for Cook any time soon. Image in if we went 4-4-2 and lost to Barrow. The frothing of mouths on here would be at an all time high.
Adams knows what he’s doing. He’s taken more than one team out of this division and we have already seen many positives from his management. Anyone expecting a complete turn around from the last couple of seasons needs to get real.

Morning mate, feel better after a good nights sleep, and on reflection I believe Adams will get us promoted, but it was gut-wrenching to lose the way we did, now we know how the Mansfield fans felt when we got all 3 points there, a draw would have been a fair result but as we know football doesn't always give you what you want onward and upwards.

Cook should have scored with the header, It was not the claimed world class save as claimed as Cook headed it straight at him from 3feet out, The keeper could not get out of the way if he wanted to, It was a bad miss not a good save,
Yet again ROD was at fault for the Salford goal by not coming for the cross while routed to his line, He has cost us points and will continue to do so, It may well have been better defended in the box but if it does not get there by the keeper doing his job the defending does not matter,

It is said Adams has a reputation for shaking things up, Well he needs to start with a shake up of some of the poor players he picked yesterday

it’s Paudie O’Connor’s fault and Theo Robinsons fault a long long time before it’s ROD’s.

Watch it again on video, It was in the keepers area the six yard box. If ROD comes and either catches or punches the corner is cleared BEFORE it even reaches Paudie or Robinson, It was a keepers ball all day long but he stayed on his line

This still image shows that in no way could he have come. Directly infront of him is Watt and a Morecambe player. Then directly where the ball is dropping are another 3 Bradford players, Paudie, Kelleher and I can’t make out the other.
Paudie misses the header and Robinson as you can see let’s his man get the wrong side of him. I can’t see where the fault lies with ROD.

The lone man up front is easy to defend when playing a team away who are not wishing to play expansive football and rely on one lucky break from a set piece to win the game. Being brutally honest we were mugged . Their keeper made two fantastic saves that ROD would still be going down for ( perhaps that’s unfair) They can have anti football manager and were awful really. Finishing is not going our way. The subs should have been made earlier imho.

The tennis was bloody good though.

Move it on to when it is beginning to drop and in reach of the players

But your saying it’s his fault. It isn’t. Paudie misses the header and the 3 players were all dragged too close to the near post. He also has Watt directly in-front of him.
Where is Kelleher? Why is he marking no one? What is Robinson doing?
He has his faults but he wouldn’t be catching or punching that corner yesterday.

Looking back at all the comments on here pre, season and during the window, and the “quality signings” they have made……

With the possible exception of Lund , they were individually and collectively, pretty damn awful.
McAlney not on long enough to judge.

I think you are perhaps missing the point? His presence meant defenders were split marking two forwards, Angol and Cook, whereas now , with the new ref directives they just pile in on Cook alone. It’s easy to defend!

He’s was pretty anonymous yesterday throughout the 90. They simply doubled and trebled up on our wide men yet we still created 17 opportunities . That’s why other than the odd chance, they were a team content to sit back and defend and pray for a break. Their prayers were answered.

God awful stuff to watch if that’s how your team play at home!!

The point is he never comes - EVER. He was even hesitant on high lofted balls into the box yesterday with nobody challenging. It was a tap in from 3 yards.

Defensively I thought Kelleher as back up was a positive on the whole. Had a really good game.

Watching the Cook header back again it really is an easy save to make. Header lacks power and direction. He can't seem to get a clean connection with head or boot at times.

Re Gilliead - have defended him before and yesterday on a couple of occasions he failed to find the final pass or get a good shot off. That was disappointing. However, in all of the last few games he has created chances or been a key contributor that weren't finished off - Cook's other woeful header in the first half being a case in point yesterday.

Edited to add that it is fine margins and we have at least been competitive in every game and looked like scoring, except the Orient match second half. We will turn this around. The performances, and approach, regardless of system, are incomparable to the last 15 games of last season.

I agree with your comments and while overall Kelleher had a decent game he is at fault for the goal so late on yesterday. He’s been sucked into the near post marking absolutely no one. If it falls to their number 10 it’s also a goal. Someone has left him completely unmarked in the middle of the box and the less said about Robinsons marking the better. Like I said ROD has his faults but we can’t point the finger at him for yesterday’s goal. In my opinion of course.

Should we really be arguing amongst ourselves as to who was to blame for Salford's goal?

If we've got aspirations of promotion, we should be burying the likes of such poor opposition, with little concern for conceding a late goal. We should have been out of sight by that stage.

Correct. Walsall was no different either. 5 points lost unfortunately.
