Exeter are always up there end of the season. A defeat would have hurt but a solid enough point.

Think on the balance we had the better chances, could have gone in at half time 0-2 on another day but they missed an absolute sitter so take a point. Oldham and Stevenage home next, those are the games we need to win. Mansfield and Orient away be tough.



Think he changes 2-3 for Forest. Would like to see Eisa.

 

they finished in the playoffs in 3 of the past 5 years , so hardly a million miles away from what I said.

 

Aye, just 3pts off the play offs. They are a promotion rival. They are up there more often than not.

First two comments re ROD , yes I know, but still uncertain about the cross foul or not, that’s my point.

I know the “miss “ was a different cross which came from the right, the other came from the left. I know Angol was offside at the second ball. However the keeper didn’t know that.!

The over hit cross from Angol which virtually gave Cook was poor, otherwise yes he was a threat to them throughout. I thought Vernham was effective too when he came on.

Disappointed with not winning, happy with the draw as at the end it could have been a sucker loss.

I didn’t rate Exeter that much , especially their back line.

 

Too many chances created for it to be a bore draw.

Gilliead about 4 yards out in the second half where he fluffed it.

Spot on Sergio. Two things - First Matt Taylor is a sensible guy so all this "saying things the fans want to hear", is rubbish. His pre match interview for Exeter fans was just as realistic as his post match when it came to discussing BCFC. His views on us were echoed in their Boardroom and by even handed fans sitting around me. Pre match there was a genuine feeling of nerves from them about us and you're right in the above.
So, second, Angol's cross pulled a yard or less further back and 1-0, Cook. Dawson in goal possibly MOM, especially in first half with his double save quite amazing, plus one or two others and we could have been out of sight by HT. However, we all know football isn't about could've, would've, should've and Exeter may have said the same about the last minute but to me the last minute was almost all they had, plus Dawson and a lively player in Jevani Brown who had a great debut until he ran out of steam.
All in all we don't often get anything there so we have to be pleased enough, it appears Derek is so move on. There are some hard games in this start with Mansfield (tipped by some), Orient (ditto), Salford (ditto) and Newport being four of the next five away but we can only get better in my view but we did play some decent stuff yesterday and were for me the better team.

 

He would say that wouldn’t he? His team have just failed to beat City. What do you expect him to say? They’re dogshit and we’re no better?

 

But lack quality to finish the job in a positive way.

Until we sign some quality we will be nearly men. Hopefully more decent signings on the way.

I wish I had his confidence. I wouldn't rate us as certs for promotion - we need more quality up top first.

 

To be fair Roger he’s exaggerating and as miserable as usual, but that squad looks awfully reliant on Cook for goals, I worry that if he’s injured, the results will dry up.

 

He did not have to say anything about us being promotion prospects to discuss the game adequately. He could have just alluded to the strength of our team or some other banal statement.
