New Manager - Welcome Derek Adams

It's a no brainer to come to City, even if Morecambe go up. It's a club with no cash to compete at the next level. They'll be straight back down. Also, their best players have been Lavelle and Mendes Gomes who are both thought to be moving to the championship this summer. They might get a bit of money, but not enough to see them right to have a chance at a sustainable run in L1. The other two best players are Stockton and Mcalinden, both out of contract at the end of the season and know us and a few others in L2 could easily match a L1 Morecambe wage, but after good seasons they'll take calls.

So Adams has two choices. Either take one of the smallest budgets in L1, needing a rebuild to replace all your lads who've moved upwards, and accept you'll lose a lot and hope you've impressed enough to take a bigger job before you get a relegation on your CV...... Or, take the City job, one of the highest budgets in a division you know how to get out of, with a lot of dead wood already out the door, with a plan of getting to L1 but this time he's at a club with the capability to stay in L1, unlike Morecambe.

 

Possibly , but they soon get forgotten these managers.
We won’t be a big earner but we could rebuild the excellent rep he had a few years ago when he went to Norwich.

 

I'd be surprised of its anyone but him. Other than a few rumours of Wellens, there hasn't been a whisper of anyone else being in the frame.

But a manager and players possibly dropping back into a league they have just fought so hard to get out of

Judging by his reaction to Morecambe's goal he seems very committed

Orient have appointed Kenny Jackett. Id have lived him here, he plays good football and knows how to win at this level.

 

Good appointment for Orient, however, as he actually managed at this level before?

 

Morecambe keeper has made a couple of very good saves.

Well if he came to us I would be absolutely chuffed, but I think he would want a very high wage and reading between the lines we are pretty skint hence the desperate 1903 stuff

It was one of his not so petulant ones though. Fair enough to go for the ball. Defender did well to hold him up and make sure he got there late though.

 

You know people have been banging on for years about wanting to pay more and when paid for extras are added they moan on like anything. If you don’t want to subscribe to extras don’t do it but please don’t complain about it
