Not sure about that. There may be interest from League 1, possibly from one of the teams that go up from this division, and I wouldn't hold it against him if he chose to move up a division. That scenario wouldn't prove he had no confidence in T&S, but if he chose to take up his option of another year at Mansfied or he moves to another league 2 club then you might have a point.

 

The other question is if we were to appoint another manager would they be be able to build a team and take them to automatic promotion any better. Afiter all we nearly appointed Hurst

 

Again, another legitimate question. This one needs asking just as much as the others.

 

Yet that has no bearing whatsoever on how any other team has gone up in the history of football. It's like this comfort blanket that old city fans cling to, like suckling on their mother nipples when they were a kid. When T & S took over Bradford City were in a false position. We finished 9th last season. Grimsby were a bottom half team. Whoever took over from McCall be it Hurst or you would have kept Bradford City up.

We now should be looking/planning to get a manager who will give us the best opportunity to get us out of this league.

What changed a team from an unbeaten run of however many games to one who can't buy a win I really don't believe the absence of Cook and Canavan is the reason, there are 11 players on the pitch not 2
T&S did a fantastic job of rescuing us from near oblivion to within an ace of a play off spot and fully deserved the Plaudits they got but are they the right men to get us out of this dreadful league furthermore are they the right men to not only hold our place in L1 but to push for a championship place that's the biggest question of the lot we need that as a starting point
Our East Coast correspondent quite rightly says we change managers more often than is good for us but now is the time to appoint a manager (whether that be T&S or not) with one eye on the Championship whoever that may be we need to be ambitious or the rot will continue
My feelings are T&S failed us at the last push up and are not but that's only my opinion

 

It's up to the players now in the next three games whether they get Trueman & Sellers the sack or not. A couple of wins and I think they'll be OK.

I suspect a few of the players already know they are on the way out. I know the managers say there have been no discussion yet on contracts but the players will have an idea,even possibly off the record that they are going.

 

Don’t think Rupp has ever picked the manager Trevor, always left it to the CEO. Sparks has only picked one and that is the current pair who haven’t done too badly despite the recent slump.

 

Could debate the merits of Trueman and Sellars all night, also wether Danny Rowe could fit into a 4-2-3-1 system but it’s Line of Duty starting shortly and got to see what happens to Kate and if an UCO has infiltrated an OCG.

 

Yes Steve, a very important question to ask. I know it is never going to happen but if we win our remaining 3 games and all the games involving teams above us go our way, we could still finish in seventh. For that to still be a mathematical possibility for a team that were staring national league in the face in December and have just lost 4 games on the trot just shows what a golden opportunity we have squandered. It's like the footballing gods have said ' We're virtually handing you this on a plate! It's yours for the taking!' and we've gone 'thanks but you're alright, we're happy to stay where we are'.
