I'd say home fans wise we were at about 18,000 which is no mean feat for a club that for years had not got near that sort of figure. Unfortunately that figure was built solely on the crest of a wave created by Parkinson and cheap season tickets. And at any club where this happens once the success disappears so does the apathetic fan base.
Sparks has his work cut out, the fan base is losing the good will it had for Trueman, if we have a poor start to the season and the manager merry go round starts again then it's gonna take a long time to get anywhere remotely near 10, 000 never mind 18,000.

My brother who has bought a season ticket for the last 12/13 years (And this season)even travelling away games hasn’t seen a single game this season on I follow,he’s lost interest.

Very worrying signs for our future of getting 8 to 10 thousand season tickets never mind what we have done in the past in sales.

Sorry Fordy, still don't follow that argument. Every facet of life changes over time but the governing rules still apply. Successful people will always be successful no matter what era they exist in.

 

Successful people and successful businesses are ambitious and inevitably take risks.
Bradford City FC are neither and I’d say the majority of the fanbase are the same. Hence we are in league 2

The risk he took spending money we didn’t have lead to 10 years of struggling for survival. I am all for calculated risks like the overspending on our last promotion season and cup runs but stupid risk should be avoided unless there is money there to cover it

 

That’s bullshit. Many clubs have struggled from taking risks but doesn’t stop them trying again when they are back on stable ground. Look at Bolton. How have they managed to clear a 300 million debt but still have the biggest playing budget in league 2? You talk nonsense

The risk was only exposed by the collapse of OnDigital. Gypsy Rose Lee couldnt have predicted that.

 

He took risks every season he was in charge. How do you think we actually got to the premiership? Wasn't by steady 'sustainable' football.

 

I too haven't watched a single game on ifollow, however, unlike your brother I haven't lost interest. Can't wait to get back to Valley Parade
