Danny Rowe - The New Charlie Wyke - now with poll

It was a major success let’s not forget when the new regime took over we were second bottom and heading one way and there was genuine fear on here about national league football. We are safe and in mid table and all have contributed to that. The play offs then were certainly not in anybody’s mind

 

Just a thought, maybe we have a deal agreed with Andy Cook and him and Rowe did not see eye to eye, they certainly did not play them togethor that often. Cook certainly the better all round player.

How can it be described as anything else from heading out of the league to being comfortably secure.

 

Falling out of love with this club. Why do players want to get away from us so quickly? Something is not right behind the scenes

 

Problem is that this is a recurring theme with strikers recently. Doyle, then Vaughan, now Rowe.

The first two have been excellent post City and I'm not being against Rowe being the same.

Can it ALWAYS be the players fault? Or at some point do we question the club? (Not you obviously, I'm not insane).

 

We're gonna finish in the lower half of league 2. Again. That is not bloody success.

That's ignoring that we've got two senior strikers in Lee Novak and Andy Cook who have 1in2 scoring records in their time with us, so it's clearly not all bad for strikers at VP.

I’m sick to death of the lack of ambition from this club and to be honest from a large majority of the fanbase just happy to exist so long as tickets are cheap.
I want to see a statement of intent this summer by making some marque signings early on instead of waiting for the scraps then panicking in January.

 

Yes if you say so Park. Did we set a team up or have the players to play to his strengths - the answer is no. The question is why did we sign him then? We were told the club had done its homework before recruiting and were signing players " that fit" in the way we want to move forward. We now have one permanent striker signed - if his contract is not renewed - none. Mansfield have yet to decide whether to trigger another year for Cook. We bring a young lad from boro but do not play him - was he not good enough? Puts more questions about the clubs researching and then recruiting. We found it difficult to recruit strikers last summer are we confident we can recruit 2 to 3?

 

Still shows this club is rotten from the top to the bottom. Absolute shit show.

 

Surely when we signed Cook, and Rowe having both Novak and Donaldson at the club someone would he on the bench, even accepting T&S formations only require the one striker, I give the lad credit for being in T&S ear wanting to play, It's difficult when Cook has shown the scoring form he has recently, so I can't agree with your comment, if he's not getting a regular football at 32 years old, good for the lad to say he wants out and playing football rather than sitting in the bench.

 

If you think finishing bottom half of league 2 has any semblence of success then you are wrong. The season should judged where you finish, its not the fault of Trueman that we will finsh this low down but a season is 46 games long not 20 or 25. As it stands we are just another bang average league side in the lowest division. And that is not success. Escaping non league relegation should be seen as nothing more than a shameful chapter in the clubs history.

Lee Novak doesn't have a 1 in 2 record and come August Andy Cook may well not be our player.
