It was far from a spectacle today but Stevenage did what was expected from a side in form got straight onto the front foot and we find ourselves 1 - 0 down after 15 minutes from IMO a very soft/poor goal, yes questions should be asked of why our keeper is not getting a fist to those sort of balls, sorry he instills very little confidence in me dealing with balls into the 6 yard box.
We got back into the game against the run of play that suggests although we were under the cosh we still kept plugging away where as some teams may have gone defensive certainly until half time.
I thought we were the better of the two sides in the second half all T&S substitutes were positive and could have got us the win, but I'm not unduly unhappy with a point from one of the form teams in the league.[/QUOTE]

 

Won't disagree with you about our slow, laborious passing.

We suddenly have too many forward options and zero midfield players who are competent passers. We often forget Watt is only a young lad and still learning.

Callum Cooke cant be far off returning he said himself possibly mid April, could he return for the home game with Grimsby or the following Tuesday night to Crawley that will be the 13th April (mid April) hopefully ?.

first half hour was awful. We look like conceding at every corner.

Just finished watching the game. We were poor first, better the second without been anything special. Result was fair on both teams and given Stevenage’s form I guess it’s an ok result for us in that it also wasn’t a defeat.

Hate to say their goal was another mark against O’Donnell IMO. It’s pretty much scored within the 6 yard box, I don’t know how anyone can defend the keeper not either dealing with it himself or organising his defence to do so. If striker continues to miss 1:1 chances it’s often resulted in him been dropped. OD keeps making these errors which are costing us and I just don’t feel the defence feel as comfortable with him as Hornby.

 

You’d moan if we won every game 4-1. You we’re even moaning on Friday after beating Forest Green. Do you really think we should win every game? Stevenage have lost once in 2021, they are in fantastic form but we looked more like winning the game. You just pounce on the negative,want everyone sacking from Mason to Sparks.

 

I agree Hornby lost his place unjustifiably now he should reclaim it.

They looked a useful side until we started pressing them higher up the pitch. ROD still worried me, good shot stopper but he's like Count Dracula when it comes to crosses.

 

So what from today’s performance, convinces you that we’re going to go on an 8 game unbeaten run (11 if you believe we’ll go up)?

Would love you to be right, but we’re not clinical enough and just don’t have the strength in depth. God forbid if one of our back four gets injured.

 

Some good stats there Den. Interesting that our form since T&S took over is auto promotion standard yet we are told by some that the squad is not good enough-they are proving they are good enough but frustratingly our poor league start will , I fear, mean we miss out on the play offs by a whisker. Hope to be proved wrong.

Thing is I watched the Parky history makers DVD before the match today, that team squeaked into the playoffs by the skin of their teeth & I can honestly say bar Paudie & Canavan none of our current 11 would get near the match day squad. BUT to me being a fan is about believing, no matter how long a shot it might be, that your team will defy the odds, will go on that run, will get to the League Cup final, will beat Chelsea Away. If we don’t believe then what’s the point....
So we take the point, dust ourselves down and get ready for the mighty Codheads.

According to @Dennis since T&S took charge we have out performed all the teams in the league on a points per game basis at 1.9 points per game-auto promotion rate-how do you explain those stats from a "poor squad"?
