Cook is a experienced striker like Novak who’s a good finisher ,Rowe is also a good finisher but in today’s football he doesn’t really fit in with most teams due to his lack of mobility , sometimes you have to run the channels ,that is our problem in defence also a sameness of players good stoppers but all lacking pace , Vernam and Crankshaw to me are more impact players who are very useful to come on in a game ,midfield cook and watt are good footballers and are young who are only going to get better ,Sutton has tremendous energy but poor control ,next transfer window if we can get 3 proven players with pace and power I think promotion could be achieved

 

Keeper problem ain’t a problem for me Rog . Got to be Sam . OD shouldn’t be captain nor keeper first choice.

 

Disagree, outfield players should take responsibility for their own performance regardless of who’s in net. We give too many soft opportunities away regardless of who’s in net, we’ve been lucky that at league 2 clubs aren’t very clinical, similar to 17/18 imo. But at least we won.

 

Hornby had one poor game then the usual clamour for a change of keeper. I can't see Hornby playing second fiddle to anyone next season so either ROD or Hornby goes. Are either of them out of contract?

 

In my opinion dropping Hornby was the worst decision made By T&S not that OD is a bad keeper but if you have the shirt and earn the right to keep it even if your competition is senior to you then to have it taken away is a wrong example for all the squad players waiting for their chance

If he's prepared to accept reduced terms he gets a new contract as far as I am concerned. You need a squad with backup and he's still only 28.

 

Hornby is out of contract this summer, while O’Donnell has another year.

 

I'd agree with the reduced terms bit, my only issue is that I can't see him accepting them.

 

That's just the way he plays, he's very laid back.

Lets face it we narrowly beat a really shit team today.

My mate Donaldinho was easily MOTM. Linked up play really well and we had runners past the ball for once.

We really need to go unbeaten from now on to have any chance of playoffs. So its L2 again for next season.

EDIT: Drop ROD-had a mare today even their commentary said he should have come for their goal and punched the ball.

 

Surely he must know he's not going to get the same deal again, here or anywhere. His family is settled in the area so I imagine if we want him there's a deal to be done

We seemed to start with 3-5-2 but then it seemed to go to 4-3-3 and even 4-4-2 at times.

 

Football is weird. A team can play well and lose.

Happy we won today. We took control of the game from 50 to 85 mins and deserved to win for me.

Captains just answered it above Kev, i can't see Hornby being here next season while just being backup.

 

Sutton played a belter of a pass in the lead up to the winner, for me he has been a very good signing. Donaldson hasn’t been my favourite player but hats off to the guy today, he played really well, rarely gave the ball away and works better in a team where the pressure if off to score because you have others to score the goals (cook).

 

Funny you say that about Sutton as I am thinking for us to move from a midtable team to automatic we vastly need to improve our midfield or at least have competition in it.
