I think he's a very good player but very few centre mids can play so much football as him and watt have this season. Competition/support for them is a priority in the summer imo.

I don’t see Watt being here next season.

I think an offer will come in for him.

Indeed. But at least we were prepared to try something different which has raised my spirits re T&S.

I agree with you generally on this Fordy, like you I want us to sign players better than what we have got, certainly for the starting eleven but we also need a squad. I think Sutton has got improvement in him especially now he has stopped lunging in with both feet. He's still quite young and up to now I think his career has just been drifting. I like his not giving up atitude.
I'm definitely looking forward to the summer recruitment.

We do. Sutton will be a fantastic league two player though. Imagine him as one of four solid Central midfielders that we can use at various times with his energy and effort. He'll be fantastic.

He looked good today. Back to how he was about 7/8 games ago. Players are human. They have up times and down times, unfortunately I think a lot of the team went down a bit at the same time.

    Things we learned today:
Colchester are very poor but created several good chances against us.
Scales might become a decent player. Delighted about his goal and the shot against the bar.
Donaldson a revelation albeit against a very poor side.
Hornby is a much better keeper than O'Donnell and the defence is better when he plays.
The management are prepared to play a different system to 4-2-3-1. This is the biggest positive for me. What that system was today, however, is uncertain.
    FCD is very green.
Only two of our nine January signings started today. Does that tell us something?

Its oft been said we'll need to make full use of the squad as the season rolls along to its end, and today Clayts and Scales really came up trumps. I like the look of Scales - confident enough to bag that goal and has good movement. More game time might see him really blossom.

If he leaves, it's a conundrum. We either sign a better keeper than ROD if we're serious about promo next season - or yet another back up. Personally, I think Hornby is a better goalie than ROD - our back four seem/feel much more calm with him behind them. But if we re-sign him, he'll rightly want to be No 1. Would that happen?

I agree, definite 4231 for most of the game although before our first goal CD seemed to be playing 10 yards further forward.

Was AOC in defence or midfield? You may well be right. AOC in midfield with Sutton and Donaldson, Scales and Evans wide, Cook upfront. Was that really how we set up? If so I need to revise my judgement.

It was the same 4-2-3-1 formation with AOC playing the Elliot Watt role and Finn Cousin Dawson at right back, Donaldson was in the Callum Cooke role.

And here's me thinking it was a back three with FCD and Woods as wingbacks, Sutton, Scales and Evans in midfield and Cook and Donalson upfront.

I wonder why Donaldson didn’t push forward when Rowe came on. Rowe cannot play the lone striker.
