He’s been injured in large spells hasnt he? And at least has some semblance of a league career and goals scored in football leagues. Plus he is not a dwarf.

Your criteria of what's needed to be a footballer is frightening.

 

This was the first full game I've seen of the Sellars/Trueman era.

We are clearly much better organised with and without the ball, in this aspect we look like a different team to just a few weeks ago. It seems players know what is expected of them, and we actually function as a team.

The lack of quality is still glaring. I posted on here that I didn't think we had the personnel to play any particular system, I think that showed tonight,if we are going to advance up the table I think we lack players of sufficient quality in each of the 3 positions behind the striker, with more effectiveness in these roles we'd likely have got the points tonight.

 

He has scored 30 goals in the football league since he made his debut for Accrington 9 years ago, he drifted to non league for a few years, and that is where he should be playing again now

 

I just think if the others have stepped up to the mark in a post McCall world then he deserves a chance too.

 

9 years ago nothing to do with it are you excluding the goals at forest green, bath city and welling, there’s a large gap in there? 16 in 52 at Stevenage. Yes he is last chance saloon and has a lot to prove but perhaps like the others a change in manager could bring the best out of him, football is a confidence game.

 

And it was a game that I never thought we were going to lose like so many this season

 

I keep hearing about getting rid of player. They have contracts and if we pay them off it comes out of the salary cap so it’s highly likely they will all be here till the season end

 

And repetitive. If Billy Clarke fell on his arse Raynor would say "ooh that was a clever play by Clarke"

Thought the game and performance were an exact reflection of the conditions and the amount of games played of late - and there’s nothing wrong with that. It wasn’t spectacular, we were bright in several parts but above all didn’t really do enough to win the game. Neither did Port Vale.

What was pleasing was another solid performance from front to back. We look so much more organised and everyone seems to have a job and look like they understand it.

Sutton is really starting to look like a player we’ve been missing for some time - excited to see more from him.

Also have to note I really like the look of Hornby in goal. He’s bright and quick off his line and keeps things moving from the back. He’s at an age where I am sure he will be looking for first team football, however I’d like to see more of him in a city shirt - whilst noting O’Donnell hasn’t done anything of late to deserve been dropped.

 

I must admit, after taking the mutt out for his last walk of the day [and very nearly falling A over T] not long after the final whistle blew. I didn't miss attending BD8 tonight, it's absolutely taters out there. Sat at home with half a bag of cashews and a few G&T's was much more enjoyable, especially when the entertainment factor was negligible at best.

 

Only if you were more interested in what he had in his sandwich rather than what was going on on the pitch, he was rubbish...

 

Parader, said in an earlier post I have no probs at all with tonights result and again a number of positives can be taken from the performance - I actually think the fact we didnt win is no bad thing in that it will just focus minds in the days ahead. As you say, the quality were are lacking is still obvious, S&T have done wonderfully well but they now have the window to work with Turnbull and hopefully developments are already well in place. If you had offered anyone on here where we are now just a couple of weeks back we would all have taken it

 

It’s not often I think this but tonight was one occasion I am glad to watching on tv a freezing night and the thought of a long drive back is not appealing. Not that I thought the entertainment was that bad the midfield play was entertaining on a very difficult pitch all that was missing was a goal

 

Watched the game in spells last night whilst i was cooking.
Just watched the highlights back and Billy Clarke on the follow up from Cookes shot!!!!
Im a fan of his but jesus christ, put your body on the line instead of tinning out. How he doesn't get that is beyond me.

 

Kurtis Guthrie should not be at Bradford City.
